a few things it could be - heatshield, etc
you're going to have to scrub around underneath it to find out what's loose unfortunately
if you can't find anything it could be the baffles in one of the silencers
wouldn't be surprised if it's a problem on some cars as the centre boxes of a lot of aftermarket exhausts hang lower than the OE one which is built up into the exhaust tunnel
i can't really keep up with the tacho but have noticed that i tend to shift from second at about 60 and at about 80 from third. looking at those vids, seems that's about 6500rpms
have you tried driving it steadily (at part throttle) up to the limiter to see where it cuts, rather than wanging...
typical outer CV joint below. you've got a spider locked onto the splined end of the driveshaft which holds a number of ball bearings which are located by a cage which is, in turn, housed by the outer casing of the joint. the purpose of a CV joint is to allow for steering/suspension movement...
Re: s**te renault jacks
i think the standard jack i've got is actually ok (as they go), but the plastic loop that you hook the winding handle into looks as though it wouldn't stand up to a lot of regular use as it deforms alarmingly
Renault dealer is going to be your best bet. don't know how easy to fit they might be
if by 'standard road lights' you mean driving lamps, it won't be possible to convert them as the lens/reflector design dictates the light pattern that the lamps emit - fog lamps will only cast light onto the...
^ jack the relevant corner up, and try rocking the wheel whilst grasping it at the 9-3 and 12-6 o'clock positions. also spin the wheel to see if you can see/hear anything untoward
tbh, if it's the wheel bearing, it should be obvious if it's as noisy as you describe. if it is the bearing, i...
i thought the object was in avoiding doing that.. ?
anyway, that suggestion of using a loose clip is a good one - easy scrap yard job and you could keep it in the glove box
PS. Peperami, there's a suggestion in similar topics that the alarm can be deleted using the CLIP diagnostic thing
i'm sure you would have noticed, but i'm going to embarrass myself by asking - assume it's not stuck in gear?
as chance would have it, my gearbox failed last x-mas eve and gave similar sounding symptoms as the engine couldn't be started unless the clutch was in
otherwise, i think there are...
i don't myself (may be someone else will) but i do know that they're out of stock of these mounts at the moment (as i enquired recently) and are expecting more in the second week of Jan. may be they can arrange something else before then though
i'm lucky enough to have a pillar drill but, likewise, probably wouldn't be happy using a hand held drill. the alloy's probably quite soft but you wouldn't really want to risk being at all inaccurate as i assume the plate should sleeve over the bolt snugly
if the hole in the base plate is too...
doesn't sound good. i think 'adeyspecracing' (user name) has fitted one - could ask him by PM, or wait to call KTEC after the break
if it's just the case that the hole in the base plate isn't big enough, could you enlarge it by drilling?
sounds daft, but a loose upper gearbox mount (under battery) will make a similar sounding noise - although usually intermittently i'd have thought
possibly the wheel bearing?
i've a G220 that i've used to go over the car once and, tbh, it's *very* hard work.
if your car's covered in minor scratches/swirls (as mine was), you're not going to remove them by hand, so you've no option but to be using a machine really.
but - as said - it takes an absolute age as you...
i know you've just decided but, in order of pref, i'd look for Cups/Ph1/Ph2 if i were in your position
the Cups are the lightest (marginally) but, perhaps most importantly, don't have any driver aids (other than PAS), or A/C - so less to maintain (not that you'd necessarily be bothered if the...
i've a mk2 stealth on mine and think it's quite pleasant with the cat fitted. i did try it with a decat (briefly) but found it way too noisy - was actually quite surprised at the noise increase. it was fine at relatively small throttle openings but was otherwise embarrassing - i felt guilty...
