currently looking at Kangoo diesel engine mounts and am wondering if anyone can confirm that i've the right part number/s
i've only called Renault so haven't had the opportunity to look at the illustrations
- the parts are for a 1.9 DCi (2003 - took a random registration from Autotrader..) -...
there seem to be a few who keep it, but these guys are the importers (i believe): http://www.ccs-inc.co.uk/sb-products.asp?productid=2330&category=86
can't go wrong at £5 a bottle really
if it's just the std. coolant heated circuit, can't see any danger of it igniting.
the heat's provided by a matrix (a mini radiator which uses the engine's coolant to provide the heat); you'd probably need an electric element to ignite it.
haven't taken a Clio dash apart but it could be...
Adeyspec has stated that he's swapped just the gearbox mount without having done the l/h engine mount and hasn't noticed an increase in vibration.
my last car (205) had a very similar mount lay out and i did notice that (of the two mounts being discussed) uprating the l/h engine mount made...
been using this after reading various recommendations; granted, i'm not particularly experienced or discerning with car cleaning products but, having now tried 901 and the Aquawax stuff, i don't think i'll bother with anything else - they've always left a really impressive finish and are v cheap...
sounds as though the driveshaft is back in OK. should say that i've not taken one out of one of these - but can't see it having gone back in 'incorrectly' if it's home - ?
if you're towing it on an a-frame (front wheels off the ground), there's zero risk. if you're towing it on a rope, the...
i'm seriously considering a pair if these - do you guys who've fitted both feel the vibration is uncomfortable in a daily driver? i used uprated mounts in a previous car and really liked them, although (tbh) they were a little too much for a road car - but, from the tone of people's posts, these...
sounds as though you've pulled the driveshaft out of the diff and have lost some oil, and have also (coincidentally) unseated one of the drive shaft boots. picture will help but, if that's all you've done, all you need do is top up the gear oil and reseat the boot.
ed. sorry, typing too...
my mum's got a '96 1.4 8v that i look after (it's actually becoming quite rusty!). may be the 16v's were stiffer, as the chassis is best described as 'comfortable'; gearshift takes an age as well. does its job though
^i'd do that (guysy) - just call them and explain that the Renault exhaust has a reputation for corrosion and that you'd like to replace your corroded one with an aftermarket stainless system in the interests of reliability. they don't do anything for the power on otherwise standard engines...
think it's another 'horses for courses' thing; i like a sporty exhaust on my cars as it adds character but am too old for anything particularly noisy; i'd probably have loved it 10+ years ago and it did sound good whilst blipping for downshifts, but the decat i tried on mine was otherwise...
haven't tried solid mounts; i decided against it as i didn't want to risk making the front end any livelier than it already is on mine.
don't know if they cure the creaking; might be best to have a hunt about on search to check for opinions
