I tried selling mine about 10 months ago. Same sort of thing, I had it advertised at the top end of the average price bracket but didn't get a single call in two issues of autotrader and 3 weeks online, despite dropping the price half way through. I decided for the sort of money I was going to...
My car has recently started doing this. It only does it when very cold for some reason and goes away within a minute. It does it only while I'm turning the wheel, whether the car is stationary or moving. Reported it once to renault, they changed a few bushes and wotnot but I still have it...
I tried posting in this thread yesterday. I'd written a huge answer and the bloody site locked up so here's the amended version...
I part ex'd my old megane, I needed the code later for it's HU. I rang the renault garage where i part ex'd it. They had the code from when i bought it at the...
elephant's policy of charging you to make amendments is pants IMO. However you can reduce it's affect by making the changes online. Send them an e-mail, they give you a price and you send them another one confirming it. They don't charge as much this way.
It REALLY annoys me that when I get...
Your different bumper may not add to your premium (unless they count it as a kit)
The alloys are HIGHLY likely to add to your premium.
The lowering WILL add to your premium.
The induction kit WILL add to your premium.
Anything you have done to your car which alters the appearance or the...
We've not been saying that we primarily use optimax for 1/4 mile times. We've been saying we use it because it's recommended by the manufacturer and we can physically feel for ourselves that the 172 runs better with optimax.
It's supposed to run on 98ron but we didn't have that here until...
Of course it's a type-R, I knew I'd kick myself! Type-R was the only real other choice I was considering when I got my 172. I don't know if I made the right choice. It came down to paying about £2k extra for the civic, which I have now lost and more in greater clio depreciation. I'm sure...
My car's going into renault in a few weeks for first MoT and they ned to have another go at fixing all the strange noises that that haven't gone away after the last trip to the garage. I told them my car would also need a new ECU bracket, I felt like a right goon when the guy off the service...
It's a s**t situation. You take them to the police, police say not enough evidence to prosecute. You take them to their parents, parents are probably scallies who don't care anyway. You beat them up, you're breaking the law, risking getting in trouble, may even feel a bit guilty and it won't...
So what did you alter in the end? Did you upgrade the head unit or just fit 6x9's as replacement for your rear speakers and run them off your existing head unit?
Agreed, I have spoken to Renault UK technical help on the phone and they told me not to use 95 RON. Why do they care unless it's not good for my car?
Acceleration just feels a lot smoother and less thrashy with optimax, stick ASDA petrol in it and it feels like I'm hurting then engine when...
I had my 36K service done at Renault Manchester. They charged about £250 for the service, another £250 for two front brake pads and discs as they said they needed changing (2 1/2 yr old car). Then when I went to pick it up, thay hadn't changed the aux belt. I went to customer services with...
I'm a fan of the vs. threads, it's the sort of conversation you have with your mates in "real life" so why not on the forum.
Here's an original one for all those needing a breath of fresh air:
Strawberry flavour milk Vs. Banana flavour milk
I go for strawberry every time.
Your car is going to outrun anything even if you fill it up with raspberry jam mate!
Just stick with the Optimax or similar that you should already be using.
Not everyone can afford it. 172 insurance is steep enough without adding mods. Personally I can't justify throwing away any more money on insurance for the sake of a meatier exhaust note. Cos if he's got a standard 172 then that's all he'll get.
OK lifetime guarantee with but
a)insurance...
Like they said, it is completely down to your own policy. I've been fully comp for several years but have never had a policy which has allowed me to drive any car other than my own.
Cost of a s/s exhuast depends on the brand and where you buy it from. Yes you would have to tell your insurance company and yes they will increase your premium.
