Just send the detial to the DVLA saying engine CC change and they charge you the same tax as there no 1.9 Mk2 phase 2 diesel so there stuck as such.
For the 1.5 engine its even safer just tell them its a replacment and since they have a k9k on the books for the Mk2 phase 2 cars you get taxed...
But the diesel will always make more torque?
Diesel powe bands are much better from 2 till 44 they make about 75% to 100% power have a look what a 172 makes at 3.5 to 7k. Its all about maximiming adverage power the diesel have the greater adverage power.
Yep just need to make the mounts, driveshafts and cut the passenger side engine away and weld it up to clearthe box and fabricate the hydrolic clutch operation.
Forget track days to expensive carting the way foprward for cheap racing.
Plus the quick go cart would show "proper" race cars up top spec cart are quicker than a 360 ferrari round most race circuits.
"1500 gauss" ha ha a good lound speakers over 10k.
If it worked I'm sure Renault would have an order for a few million they'd love to sell all there cars with lower emisions.
I'm stuck thinking of any which have much more than 200lb torque though for 200hp. Goes for any petrol turboe realy no more torque than hp best of them would be Merc stuff where its600hp and 720lb toruq ie about 1.2 lb per hp.
Golf TDi however is 138hp and 236lb torque ie 1.7ish
Alfa 200...
0-60 the petrol should have the edge depends hwo both are ebing driven the diesel looses as it needs an extra chnage often to get there.
On track the dci will win easily ever time. The weight of the engine won't matter out of bends they pull much better and the power bands ideal.
(this is...
This forums the Mk2 forum realy
Williams CLios the Mk1 forum
Be interesting to see where the Mk3 owners end up.
To many people thinking they have the best ever RS car and on here theres to many 172/182 owners need silencing who don't want to.
Nar keeping with what i like going to have to try search out my belived conti 1's buy all the remaining stock in England I recon.
Ha ha nothing wrong with sideways. Especialy if your just using it stop coilover owners there not that quick.
Its the bank holiday weekend I recon end of...
Brakes are no problem at all. Will take 150hp day in day out.
Engine parts life will be reduced but depends how the cars serviced and driven it might last longer than stokc plus engines don't realy wear out now adays cars rush and crash before that happens realy.
You should service ever...
Thats testing and drives difference a Cup racer being driven like a 200hp Clio on the right tyres for both of them for the conditions won't know which was a Cup went.
Forget groved disk no need. stock brakes are fine. Suspension depends what you want you'd need harder springs for a bigger 1.9 engine realy anyway.
I looked inot this a lot I went along this thourght route.
1.9 dci (boring) might as well use the new 2.0 16V engine
2.0 dci is a usless...
Yep 172 is a pain realy need a garage with the tools and ramps to be done easily.
Its a pain to do need the correct lokcing tools etc as the cranks not simple like other cars etc. If you've the tools and know what your doing etc then its fine just takles ages no space etc. taking the engine...
Yep your righht but it all helps.
AT the end of the day the officail limit for Renault warently was 200NM which the 172/182 hit as stabndard hence why they needed a better box for the 197 since its got more torque.
Nar decided to come home.
Still got a few laps left on my ticket so will have to go back.
Will get some better tyres as well no more stupid conti 2's, conti 1 all the way.
