    As Fred and BenR have said before phase 1 setup is the most fun setup. Personaly replace with new shock of the same type.

    Worth changing yep no real need unless it dirty though etc.

    Check the rear windows the seals sometime arn't right alsoc check the doro seals are fitted right the holes are at the bottom etc.

    Disks should never be skimmed who did that is stupid. Thats sounds like your problem should always replace them.

    Take the damper off and run it through a few clcyles ie fully in and out see if there any knocking of the valves etc.

    Thats not unusual. GSF/Halford/Eurocarparts/Rally design (web only) for the disks.

    £80~100 for original Renault from a delaershoip and pads are about £45. You can get the disks cheaper for about £50~60 if you shop round. I'd stick with stock pads if your happy forget opther compnaies copy cats there often useless.

    alternative management

    Megasquite is good and cheap and the stuff out there to do it and it as said has been used and has a great helpful base of users. However its not that advanced.

    Looking at Estates . . .

    Vectra Estate. Personaly I'd recomend some MPV type thing easier to get in and out of often which is handy when you older.

    Yep Willaims are special Renault part number doesn't seem to matter they are interchangable I've no idea the differences though. £35 each from Renault. (I think).
