ok this is what i have done, went out and bought a new '-' earth cable for the battery to the chassis, a battery charger with supply tester.
took off the old cable, used a bit of WD-40 on the chassis to get thge rust off, fitted with a new bolt. battery tester came up full charge on battery...
well i asked him about them taxing it and they told me they dont do it and that i would have to get it taxed. he let me take the car tho, be warned i got done for no tax the next day by dvla guy that drove past my car.
got 200 quid fine but i got 120 back when i produced the tax disc
ive had the battery checked and they say its ok, i know the bloke well so i know he aint fobbing me off. is that tdc sensor easy to get at?

as above it turns over but the actual engine wont start. when i try to start it the battery light flashes rapidly, sometimes the 'heartbeat monitor' light with the 'coil looking thing' comes on and sometimes the fuel light comes on (i dunno why as i have half a tank of unleaded 97 in there)...
just need to know which wires are positive, i know this has been mentioned before but i searched for the answer and none helped very much
i have got a haynes manual but again it doesnt stated what are positive and what are negative.
heres the colours,
RH Front Speakers: Beige & Pink
LH...
i had a similar problem with my mk2 ph1 the other week, found out it was a f***kin fuse in the auxilary fuse box under the bonnet, maybe worth checking this one out first.
well found out the problem, lol it was one of the 30A fuses in the auxillary fuse box under the bonnet. i swear i check all of them. i have changed it and i get a spark on the negative terminal of the battery everytime i reconnect the earth lead to it, is this normal???
Many Regards
