Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
sounds like mine lol
wouldnt run before fcs, then got it running on monday, sparky was round last night so tried to get it to cut out again so he could trace the fault
started every time!
i would double check that before you try fitting it
ive just been on the phone to ktec about my powerflex bushes and he assures me the blue ones are for the twisted type mount :S
im going to leave the mk1 gauge for now then, i have an aftermarket gauge that also controls the fan so i can do without
i will try pin 70 tonight and see what i get
laughing etc is what i said, i think if you look up amused in the dictionary it does mention laughter :rasp:;)
i'd like to know what each of these tuners actually think of each other, and what's just hype created by forum users. i bet alot of them get on quite well and have picnics in the park...
sorry but unless my eyes made it up, RStuning's clio was running, and went out on track
or do you mean it was running, but then died?
although lets face it, you build a big power/race car, you are going to get problems, and laughing etc at someone else's misfortune is harsh!
i think i might have the tacho bit sorted
and i think you can only get the temp gauge to work by drilling and tapping the mk1 sender into the thermostat housing
answering your own questions ftw :D
right, just doing the last bits to mine before its ready for some track outings
i have a sparky friend who last night started tidying up all my wiring
basically i would like to know:
a) is there any way of getting the standard valver coolant gauge to work without tapping the mk1 sender...
not my usual sort of thinking....
but is there any sort of clear tubing that could replace the coolant hoses on a 172 (or any car for that matter)
obv it would need the same heat resistant properties etc
im just thinking it would be pretty cool to have clear hoses everywhere filled with...
aye lol he told me about that!
sorted, i thought it would be pretty straight forward, but always like to check i dont have to do anything special to fit them or get them to seal properly
anything i need to do/know before changing number 4
i seem to have damaged the connector plug (its hanging on by a thread!) when removing/refitting the engine and now it's misfiring, i removed the HT lead on 4 just to check and it made sod all difference so thats what i'm going with
cheers
i use a rubber mallet to hit the inside edge of the tyre, spin the wheel slowly and work your way round, it will come off eventually
mine stick onto the hub because of the powdercoating
i have ktec's uprated mounts, and soon to put powerflex bushes on the dog bone
you should see my steering wheel shake on idle lmao although mine is a mk1, so already very rattly inside
if you decide to go for standard and want to save a few quid i have a brand new renault top engine mount...
thanks for all the comments
yes the old tv didnt have freeview, was getting on a bit lol
as far as i understand it (this might be totally wrong) in the loft we have the aerial, and each room has its own cable running from it.
so if i was to replace the aerial i presume it would be...
