Re: My mk1 track car blog
well i have been racking my brain trying to suss out what i did last time to get it running, but im still stumped. i won't be working on the car til the weekend so i think i'm gonna follow burps advice and run a whole new wire to the coil and see if that does anything...
are you getting 12v at the coil when cranking
if not this is EXACTLY the same problem i am having
was running fine and then i sorted some wriring connections on the fuel pump/coil relay and now it wont fire
this was the same problem i was having a while back, then one day while i was...
Re: My mk1 track car blog

first of all i removed the old rear caliper with the snapped bleed screw, couldnt get the handrake cable ouf of its mounting so ended up cutting it off, no biggie though ordered a new cable to replace it. fit the new...
i think they are just counting the number of hoses differently mate
i think ktec class the large bottom hose with the 2 smaller ones coming off it as one pipe? whereas samco class that as 3 pipes?
i'm after a set aswell, but in white, i'm talking to tim (timsmeganer26 iirc) as he seems to be...
the connector was renewed as iirc it would let water into the connection
oh yeh im aware it would richen the mixture up (as with any other vehicle on cold start)
it was the 2 maps i was curious about lol
yeh my new cps sensor came with a new plug and a bit of loom
yeh thats what i abbreviate it as, but what has the CTS got to do with non starting when hot?
i was thinking he might be abbreviating cam timing sensor or something along those lines for what i call CPS (crank position sensor) as these can cause starting issues when they get warm.
the 2 black cps sensors i have both fit the same plug?! its the new blue style cps that has a different connector :S
i've only got the upstream lambda connected
no worries, in no rush
ive got my old cps sensor in the garage if you want to try that (i put the new one on thinking that was causing my starting problem)
give me the part number for it tho as ive mixed the valver one up with the 172 one :o
Re: My mk1 track car blog

cheers, ive got a second hand one off mat brown, will be fitting it this weekend
my pug was a piece of cake, but as i have never done them on a clio i honestly dont know
surely it must be the same principle, few clips holding the perspex on, unclip them and slide it off? put dial rings in, put perspex back on, job done?
anyone had the perspex cover off before?
Re: My mk1 track car blog
no i left that earth where it was (as you had bolted it to the thermostat housing iirc and mine was bolted not far from that on the block)
im convinced i just had a dodgy connection and me sticking the multimeter probes here there and everywhere sorted it out...
'Colour Options: Red / Green / Yellow / Purple / Black / Orange / British Racing Green / White +15%'
would either mean making your own kit from various pieces and bends etc, or maybe worth asking them if they can make up a car specific kit in white?

dont need to collect money til next week, but the supplier wants the numbers by the end of this week at the latest.
