Re: My mk1 track car blog
i've got no idea on the rev counter :S might end up putting an aftermarket one in, and if i cant get the standard coolant gauge working i've always got my little box of tricks that controls the fan, it also displays oil and water temp, just need a sender and a joint...

Re: My mk1 track car blog
too true mate, such a great feeling when it moved and didnt crunch, crack, groan or collapse lmao........there's still time for all that on track though
are you trying to take the starter off or just get at the connections?
either way i find its best to go at it from above, i dont take the manifold off, but it can get frustrating when trying to remove it so take your swear box with you ;)
Re: My mk1 track car blog
right not a great deal has been happening recently on the clio, due to various reasons, first being a trip to my boss's villa in tenerife for a week, for a much needed break and some decent weather
as per usual the cat tried its best to stow away in our luggage lmao...
Re: My mk1 track car blog
yep 16 row cooler, and yep thermostatic plate
not sure where you heard 16 row is only for turbo engines? its more a case of what bhp, conditions and driving style. and if overcooling is occuring there is a very simple but effective way round it ;) :approve:
oh...
i used to use one of these
http://www.tools-n-all.co.uk//items/item.aspx?itemid=165152
but it all depends on how tight they are with how much success you have :o
Re: My mk1 track car blog

Re: My mk1 track car blog
right small update, on my week off work i got it running again, appears to be a dodgy ign live connection at the fuse, but whilst double checking to see if this was definately the problem my starter motor solenoid decided to pack up  ordered another from...

as you can see only one cable attached
and new cable fitted

right in my never ending quest to get my hybrid runnning its time to put your ideas forward, heres what i know.......
originally had this problem from the start, not getting voltage to the coil pack, basically the fuel pump relay (that also controls the coil feed) doesnt click in under...
in that case he must have fit the the new fpr in the tank, removed both old pipes (feed and return), re-routed new pipe and replaced rail with later style that are blocked on that end, and then blocked the vacuum feed from the inlet? seems alot of work for one faulty pipe!
you got a bill or...
i would suggest that your fuel rail has been replaced with a later style as ben says
but why not just ask the person who did the work?
and are you 100% positive you had 2 pipes coming off the rail before (a feed and a return)
if its the same as the valver then i'm in the process of fitting my o/s handbrake cable :)
basically you need to unhook the cable from the lever at the back of the caliper, then knock the sleeve out that goes through the bracket in the caliper, iirc it needs to come out from back to front of...
