ensure the car is thoroughly warmed up before putting it in for an emissions test, the catalytic converter's effiency is very poor at low temps
make sure there aren't any leaks/blows in the exhaust
then after checking these i would start looking at spending money :)
;) :approve: did you use the 172 alternator then mate? have you got it to fit ok? or have you used a different alt?
bare minimum ftw (stole your pic beanie :D )
wheres that from mate? and is that powdercoating?
i found a powdercoating place in boston spa that said about £100 (all 4) inc blasting. only catch is i have to remove the tyres myself, but i used a tyre fitting machine at my old work so can do that no problem :D
yeh you proved it can be unplugged, but with your loom there is a chance it is a later loom where the speedo runs off the abs. whereas mine is a proper early type loom that didnt come with a uch connector at all (meaning the loom is 100% for use with a car with mechanical speedo), but i still...
speedo sensor? the phase 1's are mechanical speedo drive so what does this do?
and my loom is a very early type with no uch connector so there is no chance it is a later loom with speedo running off abs
the first and 3rd plugs were the ones i asked burp about, he wasnt sure on the one near the starter but said the long one near the engine mount is the carbon cannister :) (as ditz has said)
theres no way im parking my heap of sh*te any where near this mint box when its complete lol will have to hang my head in shame!
seriously top work though bud :D
lol yup, emulated ecu for me and no mk1 immobiliser present :approve:
i will still have to put the key in to turn ignition on, as i want it as security more than anything
push start isnt a necessity or practical, but then i could say the same thing about pretty much my whole car lmao
i've bought one for mine which includes the relay and wiring :)
also got a switch for fuel pump so i'm gonna have a starting sequence to go through each time (gonna be like james may when he drove the aston race car lmao)
soft pedal conversion as used on the 172 etc? means taking the box off (or at least moving it out of the way a bit) so you can get the fork in
apart from that i dont think there is alot you can do?
i am very jealous!
would be a job i would actually enjoy so money wouldnt be an issue, whereas now i earn as much money as poss to fund messing with cars lol
nasty!
i've had a couple come through on the estimating system, 57 plate black 197 F1, done a sum total of 4 thousand miles! £1700 worth of damage
and then an 08 plate 197 in silver, done just over 1 thousand miles, eleven hundred quids worth of rear bumper damage :(
