There the easy way of just swopping all the Valver stuff or the more difficult way of mathcing wiring up but on a Phase 1 its no huge issue.
Its been done before its not difficult realy.
Get a 2.0 bottom end its the best mod ou'll do plus cams etc are much more benefitial.
On a good 1.8 engine say 150hp from cams ITG exhaust remap etc.
Williams engine is best as it has the better cams and head than the 1.8 that stock is 150hp.
2.0 bottom end with 1.8 head is a few hp...
Check the connectros at the back of the dash they can be the problem.
Some dashboards have had to be replaced though by Renault under warently because of this.
Nope no need unless they were bad.
Sounds more likly your just shoving it into gear to much and the sncros don't like it but the mounts are a posibiluty.
Try plipping the throttle when you drop it into first.
Stock clutches are the best unless you run over 200hp IMo I've had anaftermarket one it was usless bilt quality was so bad it had to be replaced when it cracked the springs.
Most likly the red light on the dash isn't going out which means the imobiliser ins't deactivating its a common problem new transponder ring or check the connections on the standard one.
New battery you cna get Halofrds etc only a few quid.
