If you want noise and performance, the only way to go is the v6 airbox.
Virtually every aftermarket induction kit loses you power. You won't see much noise from a panel filter either, but piperx is supposed to be the one to go for.
I'm also not sure that Renault will have any idea at all about...
If you've got 6 points then insurance on a 182 will be ridiculous, really really ridiculous. How old are you?
I'd honestly say there's little point in you getting a 1.6 tbh. Not enough of a step up IMO.
Do you live in Australia?
I wouldn't go lower than 40mm on standard shocks....
BUT, if you're getting rid of it, I wouldn't bother at all.
Are you buying a 1.6 or a 182?
Re: Is it just me or does everyone feel physically sick at the mention of a cam belt.
You should be fine, the change time is 5 years or 72,000 miles, whichever is first.
You'd be incredibly unlucky to have it fail on the way home.
Re: Is it just me or does everyone feel physically sick at the mention of a cam belt.
error.... the most important thing when buying an RS is to check the cambelt history.
Get it done as soon as you can. If you go to a specialist, it's a bit kinder on the pocket and you'll get a better...
The best way is to buy coilovers.... if you lower it on springs, you'll only want it lower in a few months.
Rokkor coilovers are only £160 and very good for the money.
Thats sounds like a news report....
But anyways, springs are pretty easy to change mate. I'm guessing that's what you mean by lowering? Are you buying springs?
They're OZ ultraleggera's so not exactly a 'bog standard' rim.... But I completely see what you're saying, it would look shocking on a crappy wheel.... I was hoping that maybe my wheels would be good enough to pull it off.
Fair comment about the weight thing too, I normally hate 'fake' carbon...
They're carbon Fibre outers and the spokes are Magnesium.
So you think it would be too difficult for it to be viable? I don't really know very much about carbon skinning to be honest....
I wonder if it would be airtight if the carbon wrap went around the whole of the outer (like the picture)?
It would look incredible, but i'd be running the risk of ruining my new ultraleg's if it went wrong.....
I'm sure it would be very difficult and no doubt expensive.... There's a couple of people on here that are very good at carbon skinning, I'm hoping that one of them may be able to have a stab at this!
Welcome chap!
I live in Crawley :) my clio will be supercharged soon so you're welcome to a ride. 326hp, so should give you a good idea of where you're heading.....
The only way to get that power out of the clio engine without silly money is to go forced induction... supercharger kits will...
This may be a ridiculous idea.... But Carbon rims look incredible.
Would it be possible to wrap the 'rim' part of the wheel, leaving the spokes bare? I'm not sure how you'd go about it without having a bare carbon edge on the outside of the rim, as im guessing you couldnt wrap it round the lip...
There is nothing right about having 17's on a clio, they look crap, handle crap, weigh a tonne, cost more for tyres..... I could go on.....
But you can buy some lovely wheels for £500.
If you want to follow the CS crowd;
Turini's (from a 172 cup) are £250 - £450 depending on condition...
