I need to change my cam belt shortly and crave abit more power out of my 182. Currently it has the RS2 Manifold, Center Muffler removed and running on a RS Tunner Custom map. I want to increase power but of course dont want to spend a fortune doing it.
Would changing to 197 cams...
happy ending..... I went to Fiji for 2 weeks and left the car with my mechanic. He took the sump off and resealed it, it still leaked.... he bit the bullet and removed the gear box and fly wheel. Noticed the rear main was the issue (which he changed with non gen item) he purchased genuine item...

After having my gearbox & Quaife rebuilt a O ring was missing between the diff shaft and drive shaft on the OS which caused the diff seal to leak as the drive shaft was hitting on the seal.
I replaced the seal and installed the o ring but the stupid seal in still leaking.

Update - It seems there is a little o ring that goes after the oil seal on the shaft coming out of the gearbox, the monkey that installed the gearbox left the o ring on the old gearbox which is what stops the drive shaft spline joint from moving to far forward and running into the gearbox seal I...
Cheers guys, ordered a new seal today from Renault, I think they got the conversion wrong as its $18 AU! but thats no drama, seal not just leaking in one day all the gear box oil I am pretty sure has drained out!
My biggest concern is the shaft that joins the drive shaft and diff spline...

I had my gear box rebuilt about 2 months ago, racked up heaps of driving and a track day with no issue at all but now my gear box is leaking really bad, Ive even stopped driving it until its fixed.
Car also has a Quaife LSD.
Please see pics below, basically the seal is leaking in...
the leak is clearly coming from where the gearbox meets the engine, he said when the sump was off he could see the fly wheel and it was nice and dry. it also did look like the seal along the rear of the sump (against firewall) was a tiny bit damp

Wondering if anyone has any ideas why my local mechanic has made my oil leak worse after changing the sump gasket.

ok I simply removed one plug, screwed in gauge ran test, re installed plug moved onto the next.
I will remove all the plugs tomorrow and un plug injectors (I can still leave injectors in right)
keep foot flat to the floor when re running the test.
Heres hoping it reads a lot higher...
was last done by a reputable renault workshop, it is due again in the next couple of months, once its set corretly it cant change can it? even if the Harmonic Balancer is screwed?

Ran 2 sessions yesterday with no problems, couple of laps into my 3rd session the ABS light came on and I lost ABS. Kind of enjoyed it to be honest and had a couple of slight lock ups but nothing major, I ended up while driving simply turning the car off and on after a couple of laps...
just to clarify I got a bit excited on the weekend and installed the studs, i added 2 locked nuts together and then torqued the studs to 100NM onto the hubs with some lock tight. seems instructions for other studs are only 20 NM. Have I made a major mess here?
