    Ph1 172 Ride Height

If it's any use, mine is lowered on koni shocks and apex springs and the front is 300mm, arch to middle of centre cap

How much movement should I feel through the gear stick on a 172

This. Massively improves, but will then stress gearbox and topmount, so keep an eye on them. Make sure you know, Phs1 is a straight dogbone, Phs2 is twisted. You will need to confirm when ordering. KAM still do these at a good price I believe

    major lows !!

Because it looks like you have ZERO suspension travel, so either riding on broken springs, or a boot full of cement bags. "Camberz FTW y0!" No...... again, it looks like the wheel bearings have collapsed. "Pimps be lovin poke" No..... just looks like you bought the wrong offset wheels from...

    Clio wake up call

This... everyday... x 100 Clownshoes that think their DRL's give them precedent in the outside lane, being either up your back end or blocking your way with a large gap in front. I never see any other 172's near me anymore

Time to spend some cash on the old girl

Mwahahhahaha. It can easy be done in one piece. I wouldnt spunk hundreds on the real deal though, just to end up with a lasses heel marks in it. Get some faux s**t off ebay. That was the plan. But if I got 1000 for mine, then added up the 1200 or so its gonna cost to get mine sorted, its not...

    major lows !!

If I do 30mph in mine and hit a pothole, it doesnt rip the chassis leg out, or take an even bigger chunk out of the road. Plus, if broken is looking better, you must just LOVE visiting scrapyards

    major lows !!

Its just a massive "pull me over" to the police, mainly because its not MOT friendly, so then you get a VDRS form, and wjile you are there, they will f**k you for the pressed plates and HID bulbs in standard lamps you no doubt have also. *shakes head at the "yoof" of today*

How to remove the washer bottle?

My pump has gone piss poor lately, so need to swap that out for a new one. I can see me ringing Autoglass, asking if they can fix a swcree with a 22mm spanner embedded in the middle

    197 cams.... worth the upgrade?

I am going to have my belts done soon, and think it would be rude not to partake in a cheeky cam swap while I am there. Mine is a ph1 172 used as a daily. Only mods being a panel filter and stainless. What's the CS general concensous on the 197 swap? think its worth the extra cost? And I...

Time to spend some cash on the old girl

Well, I was going to replace the clio with something like a GT TDi or BMW 330D. But on my 60mile a day commute that I have recently started, my Ph1 has been giving me 40mpg (even with a lambda light on), so it looks like she is staying. However, I want to freshen her up, so the list is as...

Hitting the rev range early? Help?

Oil temp is not.depndant on time. Its how the engine is used. Obv if people tickle its arse for 15mins, its not gonna be as warm as someone that works the engine up the rev range properly

    Retardo fuel weight question

Hence I only ever run with half a tank, unless i am going on a looooong motorway stint. It's just excess weight thats not needed.

I am unsure. I kinda like them, but they also take away any subtlety of the car. Might redo them fresh silver. New fogs have also been re-installed now. Just need some mega-white bulbs to match the HIDs

I wish it was. That bumper needs re-aligning, the wheels need refurbing, and theres a few dents. TBH.... I wish I had bought titanium too, but its not bad for the money

I am going to be picking up some cans in the next few weeks for my MP3 controller so I can actually use them for monitoring the mixing. Very tempted by the pioneer HDJ 1000's
