I can't say I've ever heard of lowtec, but the Germans always make good stuff. The v-maxx are really only for looks, apparently they're far too soft for any series use, although I havent driven with them myself. I'd go with the lowtec ones, just because they're german.

I'd keep the f1's tbh! In terms of modding, as said, get it in tip top shape first. Then, colour coding and lowering is the way to go. They look best kept simple.

No it's not.... A ported enclosure is better. If you're considering making your own box, you need to know the capacity that they're supposed to run in and the frequency that you want it tuned to. If it's looooow bass that you want, go for something around 30hz. What sort of music are you in to?
