And they would be? I removed those things because they were of no use, whereas the ~500gramme of gussets have some use.
You also say use a bolt to the shell, into a non existant bolt hole, yeah? A bolt and nut welded on probably weigh more than the entire gusset to be fair. Also, whats stopping...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Well since we swapped barrels for that short time the other night, and then put my own back on, its been 100% fine. Started every time, never hesitated once - its just so so random. The replacement key barrel from eBay still hasn't turned up, but that does...
Yep, looks like the correct one. I think there is only one type that Renault use on those models for gearbox driven speedos. I cant remember the price directly from renault, but its not far off the same..
Not sure, proper CNC equipment isnt cheap at all, not to mention writing the program for the 1*2 inlets - I remember a post by Ben@AngelWorks that mentioned the cost of his machine and how long it took him to set it up to do the inlets over and over all exactly the same, but cant seem to find it
The only place that does actual CNC matching that I know of is AngelWorks...everywhere else just does it by hand. Although, none that I can think of are in the NW
Re: Clio TT (172 cup)
I remember that type of grill from when Middo had one in like 2006 (I think its MS Designs or something) when I had my Mk2, they are rare as f*ck. Looks good, keep it on!
Nice progress - I see people hatin' megasquirt on forums a lot, but at the end of the day if its put together properly and the time is taken to set it up properly, its no different from any 'branded' ECU, it can do more advanced stuff in quite a number of areas too. Ideal for a low budget...
Chris's was a proper do, low down in 2nd, none of this mid range 4th where you have the longer gears ;) Plus 1*2s just die off when they get to 5k in 5th, mine does not lol. You've been out in it now, so you should know its quicker ha. New clutch ftw!
Yeah - compared to the F7R I had its a completely different drive. Feels a lot happier to rev, plus a load more torque and obviously the gain in BHP - makes all the difference
Yeah it really is that easy if you get a complete engine and drop it in, then wire it up with the guide...
If you go off averages and class the 1*2s as standard, they are only around 160-165/bhp tonne, civics a tiny bit more - so you do the maths lol. The stripped Mk1/F4R is technically 50bhp...
Depends on the weight really, and how healthy the engine is. The naples is probably around 800kg but isn't the healthiest of engines, mines around 840kg with a 'strong' engine it seems, and wilky19 has only just finished his so there is no comparison yet. Probably around 210bhp/tonne, surprises...
Great turnout for such short notice, probably 25+ cars? Good laughs as usual too!
I only got a couple of pics of the Mk1s, but I saw quite a few others with cameras so im sure they will post them in here.
Common as muck these days!
Enough of the Mk1s, il let everyone else post...
