Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
As mentioned previously I was at Anglesey last Saturday - despite the forecast being fine it p*ssed it down all day long. Needless to say I wont be going back unless its the middle of summer and hopefully dry!
Just about a tripod in the rain..
Had...
Yeah, drove there on the Williams wheels. Although, they have 1 x T1-R, 1 x PE2 and 2 x no-brand tyres on them. They are all around 1mm from being no good from the road as they were just what I had left in storage to use up before the year was out, so they would have probably been worse than the...
Myself, AdamAnderton and Rob91 went to Anglesey on Saturday - despite the forecast being fine it p*ssed it down all day long. Needless to say I wont be going back unless its the middle of summer and hopefully dry!

I never managed to string together a...
Ive used both on track (in 15" form) and didn't really notice a difference to be honest. 45s maybe a bit stiffer as its a smaller sidewall but that does not really justify the extra cost they come with...
I always just use a 'PDF Printer' then just open it in word and 'Print' it, takes a few seconds and you have a PDF file etc.
Open Source too http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
Was missfiring when being held at constant revs on the motorway on the way down, but fine under load... Thought it might have been one of the leads not on properly or something etc. Turns out it was the lambda sensor :)
All open...
Saying that I'd hazard a guess to mine being no different as the only way for air to get into my air-box is via the two feeds - one in the N/S fog light and one to the left of the radiator, neither of which are covered by the bonnet...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Not entirely sure, but I'd probably guess its down to the design of the engine/exhaust manifold/inlet.
Adams was OK, but it was thought he was down on a fair bit of torque - probably down to the bottom end/piston rings which we thought anyway due to the...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Yeah - 167.5bhp 150.2lb/ft
Its been fine for a while (touches wood). Ever since I had all the coolant system drained again last week and replaced the gearbox-to-chassis earth..
Probably a b00st in torque and a change to the shape of the graph..
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Went down to the Rolling Road day at Tour-De-Force yesterday to finally see what figures the car was producing. It ended up making 172.4bhp and 165.0lb/ft. Really pleased with the torque figure, and how it holds pretty much 170bhp from 6000rpm all the way to...
Cool, thats not bad going.
Ive put together a bit of a video, although unfortunately I didn't get everyone on film so I've put a few other bits in. I'll post it in here once YouTubes finished with it
Just got back, clocked 340 miles but well worth it. Cheers to Stu for organising it, Tony & Jay for the catering arrangements and everyone that turned up.
Pleased with my result of 172bhp & 165lb/ft, was a good day out. Il post my vids and pics in the thread above sometime shortly! :)
