Heated screen is by far the best option, there was a group buy for the Mk1s at one point at around £170. Although, im on my third windscreen, soon to have a 4th fitted and they are £80 a time, I didn't want to have to be spending another ~£100 per screen every time one chips or cracks from the edge!
They're pretty much a waste of time TBH. I had one when I first did mine 12 months ago, still got it somewhere. Unfortunately they make f**k all difference in reality
Get a metal fabrication place to make them up for you, its only sheet metal with punched holes after all. Or pay CustomCages/Cage Place a lot of money usually lol.
And yeah, screen has to come out to do it properly...
Just discolouring iirc.
Bearing turns freely, it wont 'spin' if you turn it and let go, cant remember if its meant to. There is a bit of movement in-and-out on the bearing, cant remember if thats normal either though lol. Chucked all my other release bearings out so got nothing to compare it...
Just before I explain the problem - Clutch is 30k old, genuine Renault. Release bearing replaced 12k (maybe less) ago from Renault.
When the car was sat at idle, with the clutch engaged and in neutral, I would get a squeek sort of noise which stopped once the clutch was depressed. I thought it...
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
Not much has been done apart from stripping the engine down to re-seal the rocker cover etc due to the sh*te weather that seems to never stop. I was so bored over the weekend decided to cut the back off the inlet like Whiteley did a few...
That was just a price for a 172 Ph2 box using the lads car reg, unsure if it was with or without the speedo drive to be honest. As far as I know a Ph1 box with speedo drive is a hundred quid cheaper on service exchange.
Yeah, I thought it would have been more expensive than the 'new' JB3 ive got on mine, which was around £900+VAT few years back when it was done on service exhange, so it says on the invoice anyways
Lol!
Yeah, they are just round plates with a hook that go through the wishbone, round the bush then have a bolt through the wishbone on the other end. Out of the 1000's of pics ive got, I havent a single one of the wishbone/ARB from underneath lol :(
They look pretty wierd, the design of where the ARB bush sits looks wierd...have you got the brackets for the wishbones that wrap round the ARB and hold it to the wishbone? You can see in this pic...
F7R rings try these - http://www.kingcomponents.co.uk/
Mine was noisy for ages, I just left it as the engine was coming out anyway. I had some mad flatspot sometimes around 3k, other times I did not. Checked the timing when I took it out and it was 100% spot on. Belt came off and I was left with this...

The same happened with Mattehs...
Next time it does it, go to this address - http://192.168.100.1 - Which is usually the local address for virgin/blueyonder modems...
It should say under 'Cable Modem Status' something like 'Not Synchronized', and the recieve/or/transmit power level will be a minus figure. If it is, its 100% a...
Ive been with them ages, probably 7 years or more back when they were blueyonder etc. I used to get this alot, had to keep unplugging modem then plugging it back in and it would work for a bit, differing lengths of time inbetween before it would need doing again, etc etc.
Both times its been...
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
Not noticed it using any oil, and I check quite regular. Annoying thing is its only been doing it since around November, and just drips between the box and block bellhousing.
I think its coming from the corner of the sump possibly, but I...
Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
Started stripping the engine down today, wish I hadnt bothered now...
First thing, the cambelt. I checked it was in time and it was so thats all good. Rotated the belt round and there was about 10 of these 'chunks' missing out of the...
