Had the alignment done on a 4 wheel hunter thingy. The fronts are p zero nero but the backs are acelera (don't ask) it feels like the front wants to carry on rather than turn in
I've changed so much on my front end but still got some unnerving handling at times. I've personally replaced-
Rack bushes
Wishbones
Inner track rod ends
Outer track rod ends
Topmount bearings
On the rear I've had new shocks circa 20k ago. Unless the rears are shot again (can't see any...
One thing I forgot to mention was that my arb seems to be pushed over to the passenger side slightly more than the driver side. With both fronts off the ground it nearly touches the subframe on the driver side? Tried knocking it back over which improved it a bit as the one bush clamp wouldn't...
I've used a random shouldered bolt I had lying around but had to washer it to stay on the thread, not ideal but temporary.
Tracking was out before and seems worse now
Done my wishbones today, pretty rusted up so it was a nightmare and ruined a ball joint pinch bolt. Do I need to get 4 wheel alignment done or is regular alignment acceptable?
Also anyone got a spare ball joint pinch bolt they want to sell me?
Think I've asked this before but has anyone ever gone from a 182 to vw transporter 102bhp? I know it will be horrible but I really need a van and would like some positive feedback, 0-60 in 18 seconds suppose it can be remapped for a bit more power and when up and running may not be too bad.
Thanks for confirming that, I searched on here and that's the conclusion I came to.
If I go cheap where can I get the correct ball joints ideally Renault, lemforder or good quality?
My ball joints have got a bit of movement that im hoping is what is giving me squirmy handling, is it still a case of replacing the whole wishbone (78k 182 on originals) or just do the ball joints if I can find them separately ?
I was wondering if it will settle, i loosened it then ran the engine, shut it off then re-tightened them. To be honest the trade off for how tight it feels now is worth it. Somehow it feels like a nicer drive all together, its just vibey at idle
Ive just done the top engine mount and pulled the engine forward before tightening the four mount bolts. The problem i have is that ive now got a fair amount of vibration coming through the whole car.
Could i have pulled it too far forward?
Is a worn mount causing my 182 to jerk when lifting of the throttle? The engine doesnt seem to move about much if revved when stationary but i wonder if its the gearbox mount. If I didnt have man flue Id investigate it but just wondered everyones thoughts
Ive got the usual problem of sloppy steering, I've personally done the rack bushes, inner and outer track rod ends, new tyres and had tracking done.
To me it seems the uj in the footwell is worn and on my old 1.8 16v clio I welded it up which transformed it. Can this be done on a 182?
If it can...
I've missed my auxiliary belt change which should have been last year (4 years and 32k since last) do I just get the cambelt done while it's being done. Seems like the sensible thing considering I would have to travel 2.5 hrs to get it done at Diamond Motors unless anyone knows of someone closer...
When I had a phase one I used to wear thermal gloves but if I got them wet scraping ice the left glove sometimes froze to the knob on really cold mornings.
Loved my phase one....
Yeah it's a cabasse auditorium tuner list. Stalk only works when I remove and replace the plug in the radio then fails after a day or so along with display. When I remove the radio it's still in place but obviously not working. Very tiring
Could the dodgy connection where my steering wheel radio control plugs into the back of the radio also be affecting my lack of radio display and the intermittent playback of my ipod and cd player? REEAALLY BEGINNING TO CHEESE ME OFF.
