The only place I could put mine through was where the cable goes through just above the passenger footwell. Get in there and peel the carpet back, youll see it. Theres a hole that goes through near the washer bottle as well and one on the other side which is where the ECU loom comes through into...
OK Ecotek fans - or those of you looking to buy one in the near future - Cliosport have struck a deal with Ecotek to get them cheaper for members. Details coming soon.
Its getting the Clio 16v leather which is the real trick though isnt it. I seem to remember every now and again a leather Clio interior comes up for sale, usually £300 +
Be easier to just have it retrimmed in whatever colour you want.
Well there might be a slight difference but thats near enough. Theyre wicked wheels and Id rather have proper Cromodora even if they are slightly different, than Prima replicas which look the same.
Well I wouldnt say flames are impossible on a 16v. On a standard one maybe, not with mods - extra fuelling through a chip or boosted fuel pressure (I have both) and hotter cams with more overlap (which I dont have) would fix the lack of flames. And obviously the cat would have to be removed. But...
Splitfire stuff is well overpriced and a total rip off. Dunno about other cars, but I cant think of many people who use Splitfire on their Clios...
Best leads are Magnecor, best plugs are Bosch Super 4 or apparently those Champion EON (but Ive not tried them myself)
Theyre full of squeaks, Im just having a similar squeak done at the moment, I think its where the downpipe and manifold join, its blowing very slightly there, so on cold starts it rattles and knocks then the gap closes up once it gets warm.
yeah the Haynes is right about the fuel tanks. I never let it go into the reserve tank anyway, thats how you clog up your fuel system. Always fill up before the light comes on, but I have had fuel economy as bad as 150 miles to a tank (down to the light coming on, not running dry).
I thought...
Yeah exactly you might as well get a Willy for the extra dosh. Youre always gonna be looking at least 2 or 3 grand for any major power mod on a Clio. THeres no way of getting round it unfortunately!
Definitely lower it first - unless you want your Clio to look like a Nova rollerskate. Come on, weve all seen Novas and other small hatches with 7x15 ( and bigger) on there and they look ridiculous. A 16v is lower than the rest of the Clios anyway, so you can do just the wheels and it fills the...
Well once its ported and polished, you wanna port the manifolds as well, match them to the ports in the head. Leave the inlet manifold runners rough and smooth out the exhaust headers.
Its been done so dont rule out putting a GTT lump in there. Jon Metz did it a few months back and I think hell do them for anyone who wants one. A couple of grand for all the work I think.
Well Im no guru with 172s but I wouldnt want to mess about with VVT cams full stop. The cars designed to be mellow when doing the shopping then a beast when you floor it. With fixed cam profiles and valve timing like on a 16v you get a road cam and thats it. However much you floor it youre still...
Im no expert either but Ive been doing a bit of thinking and reading around this subject.
There seem to be two main things going on here; firstly having the car closer to the ground reduces the air flow below the car and instead channels it around and over. For the normal street car/street...
Just thought of another thing - a better idea is what Renault Sport did with the Maxi Clio - a completely different airbox that has a wide duct that sucks in air from the bonnet. The Maxis had an extra duct on the nearside just between the ignition module and header tank. Thats if you dont mind...
Yes it is possible, nice idea going for a remote filter body but youd be putting the filter too near to road muck and be cleaning it out every five minutes. The other problem is that this length of silicone hose would cost you at least a ton, probably more, if you were to have it in the kind of...
Dunno about the colour Ive never really noticed. Im ripping those bloody rattling blinds out soon and going for a limo tint on the sunroof.
Whats wrong with a metal roof I dont know...
Fair enough, but then what youre saying are the advantages of the F4R over the F7R is basically down to the VVT (which rules out messing around with the cams too much), a different management system (it has to be anyway because of the VVT) and all the rest you mentioned could mostly be achieved...
Acceleration might improve slightly, top speed not really, unless youve chaged the rev limit.
Really, flywheel lightening is the sort of thing you do after youve worked on the head, just to go that one step further and complement the head work.
Theyre in the Demon Tweeks catalogue. But if you go to the PIAA website they might have them. Its a bit of a mental look though to be honest!
Theres one on an Evo here. The Clio one is basically the same except it fits on a Clio.
