If you want more airflow and youre serious about cutting the bonnet then its no problem. Id say just above where the airbox is, would be perfect. a 19 scoop would work a treat.
The other thing is what goes in must come out. You wanna think about cutting in an exhaust vent at the rear of the...
Ive been giving it some thought for quite a while now, a 6 point bolt in cage was what I was after. Is this the same half cage as youre on about? Dont want a weld in, too much hassle.
If you consider changing the oil filter on a 16v as an easy job, then yes, fitting an oil cooler will only be a bit harder than that. The main problem will be finding somewhere to mount it. Apparently if you mount it to the subframe or chassis etc, it will hum through the car and gets really...
Are you talking about 5 Alive in London? Dont even think about it mate. Me and Tony and WOngy went down there to have a look at their Willy lump and gearbox, they wanted £2000 fitted or £1700 cash and carry.
The place looked like no scrapyard Ive ever seen before - it was a total mess. The...
OK not being a big wheel swapper, I need some advice on this. Thinking of putting 17s on but its gonna be tight and dont wanna strain the suspension more than it already is if I can help it.
Now a 205/40/17 tyre will *just* fit I think, but the problem is the wheel width. I want it to be bang...
Dunno about the others but everyone says Billies are the best, and most people would agree that Koni are quality.
Ive got Koni adjustables and never had any problems, even on the track.
Well nothing exactly drops in apart from the Willy engine. Not even the 5 turbo lump is a drop in job. So assuming you dont mind a bit of work, what about a 3.0 V6? Dont some of the Volvo lumps go in as well? Or maybe they share the same gearbox, something like that.
Most Clio boxes are a bit rough like that. 16v ones are renowned for grinding into reverse. And my 1st is always a bit of a struggle when its cold. I would have thought its just the gearbox oil is cold so its more like treacle than oil first thing in the morning.
Errr, try on the cliosportsclub yahoo group, theres always a bit of a debate on there about changing thermostat switches for one from a 5GTT. Dont know if it works properly though...
Well yeah that is about right, considering the labour is the only bit of a respray which actually costs any money. The actual paint is only a small fraction of the cost unless you doing a flip paint job.
Fair points Ben, but just one thing...I would have thought that on an 18" wheel the tyre would actually be lighter. Compare say a 215/35/18 with a 195/50/15. Hardly any difference in width but a big difference in profile. So the 18" tyre will be lighter. But as you say the weight of the wheel...
Yeah thats kind of what I meant Ben, cannibalise your 2nd hand dry kit for the bits you can use and then get everything else (solenoids etc) to convert it to a wet kit. Thinking about it, by the time youve got all the different fittings youd need, youd have been better off just getting a brand...
I keep thinking about the back bumper of those Fiesta Zetec S jobs. Tasty and tidy adn looking more closely, the bottom part with the pretend diffuser kind of thing, would actually come off I think. Maybe get one from a scrappy and see if you can get it to fit the bottom of the Clio rear bumper...
Yeah I know what you mean but I wouldnt really want to go more than 7J anyway, yes you can get 19x7.5 etc but its a lot easier to find 8 or 9 inch wide 19s, isnt it...
Yeah the same deal as usual at the Southend meetings - you bring the tools, well fit the stuff, ecoteks power boost valves, its all in a days work at Cliosport.
Im not doing boot installs for amps though.
Well that 0-60 in 7.7 was without nitrous last summer. Youd have noticed that all these cars that supposedly do sub 8 seconds look pretty shabby when the results are there in black and white. The only quicker cars on the day were 106 gtis or 2.0s or turbos. So I was pretty pleased with that...
My false floor has vents in the front and back of it to draw the air through and its never given any overheating problems at all. THe fan works fine.
The first layer is marine ply cut to the shape of the boot with a cutout for the spare - wheel lowering bolt. THen over that is the frame of...
