Not yet mate. Just made a start draining the box, removing the shafts and linkages etc. Gonna do it gradually after work until my box arrives from @NorthloopCup.
Plan on replacing the aux belt and tensioner as its cracking after 2 years too
It's on Axle stands now resting on some MDF to stop it sinking into the block paving. Didn't realise it was that bad to leave it on its wheels with no shafts in. Fingers crossed no damage done or its another expense added to the list!
Do I have to be careful not rolling the clio with the shafts out as i believe you can f**k up the bearings? Not gonna be towing it down the road, its just mainly going to be sat on its wheels but with no shafts in.
I did think about this, but if i pull the engine I can drill and tap the block turbo in the future and tidy up the bay.
Was just a thought? Never done a box/clutch before so wanted the best visiblity and stuff.
You felt like you were getting them half decent, then get it off axle stands and it'd be shite. Definitely no leaks anywhere so it can only point to M/C orrr a tiny hole allowing air to be sucked in from the hoses somewhere but not leak fluid
I'm thinking of just pulling the whole engine and box then I can swap it all over in the garage. I cant get the car in the garage as not enough space. Presume this doesn't take much longer?
I've probably put about that in when i managed to put a litre of engine oil in the box and then shoved some cheap stuff in and then genuine elf again ?
Seen this at £90 -...
Brilliant, cheers mate! I've seen you can squeeze them out the passenger side wheel arch by lowering the subframe and removing everything on that side. Best way to do it? I only just changed the oil! haha
It's off the road now then! I was pushing my luck driving to work today.
Worth shoving a new clutch in whilst i'm there i presume? Anything else recommended?
So wheels off calipers and discs off. Cant hear anything from inside. Presume the noise must only occur during loading which means box for sure?
Noticed this but just seems like its rubbing on the fabric heatshield hence the shine.
Also noticed my tracking has been good
What part of the box? I got home with it now. I've never really had any real problems with gear changes which is odd for this to have started out the blue
