As for crashing when on circuit well laps will be slow and few people crash even on track days when there going all out.
Selling after its been on track your going soft (unless your getting a 172)
As for prices well the wheels and Coilovers sound reasonably the brake kits not a bad price though.
Ring around its only specilists who will talk to you.
You might be worth looking into the kit car catagory as with enough modifictions the car become a kit car which is cheap to insure relitivly.
I think Matt Balck was talking about selling his Audi powere Clio (you'd ned to get it re road legal but its got 420hp or so last time I spoke to him).
VAg engine is the way to go for ultimate power the gearox is better built and there more tunning bits out there but its not cheap. 172 parts...
They'd got a 6 speed setup which fits into the stock JC5 box I belive. they have an LSD and cam do custom ratios. Ring round though Mark fish did a setup for Algorami on here a few years ago with LSD and custom gearing I belive.

M reg is a phase 2 or 3 so it will have an imobiliser.
Cobra alarms are good although its down to the installer. Renault all used Cobra alarms.

Great cars personaly I'd go for a full fat 182 with the cup suspension pack.
There great as everyday cars clutch is heavy on them so round town it cna be a pain but your musles build up quick.

My old Williams has unsealed 4 pot brakes and they were fine I never had to maintain them did a few k on them. At MOT time it needed one caliper rebuilding I think but the parts were cheap.
Mark at Richspeed used the same setup on his rally car and only had to change the seals once I think...

People who have managed to hit the limiter on there 172/182 etc don't stay there for long even in Germany
You can go on track they just won't apy out for any claim. I told me insurance company I'd be tracking my car and IU was aware of the situation.
They cannot refuse to pay out if its on the road.
No need to remove anything on circuit some people do so if you did bin it they tow there cars...
