Depends what engine etc your using I'd go for a Mk1 172 personaly as its a more responsive engine with its cable throttle the Mk2 is still very good though.
I hope you've a fair bit of techincal experiance or willingingness though as it not a simple transplant take a some time you have to...
I bet you use a copy cat replacment cable not the ptoper original Renault one?
I've yet to find a decient copy cat cable there all useless junk, get a proper Renault on thats the source of all your problems.
The copy cat ones are cheaper but if you've had changed it for a proper one the...
Sounds like your coolent temperature sensor or its relevent wiring gone wrong its a common problem.
Your right in some way if the aux belt snams the power stearing and coolent pump dies but theat would mean the coolent gets hot and never goes down and your power stearing disappears and its very...
As Chris said the cables arn't needed the brakes fit other cars whcih will use the senors.
They should make for better braking never tried them myself the most important thing though is to bleed your brakes and stick some good fluid in as this makes a hugfe difference so many people thing ther...
2 hole? Any pictures sound like the clutch etc may have blow there should only be one hole in it to fill it up.
emove the mods yep but they shouldn't matter.
Your flywheel etc may have been broken hence its rough running and the thing just gave way in the end.
Did you install them if not then there maybe a screw like thingie in them to hold the adjuster in place. Otherwise get the wd40 and penterating oil out and leve it to work its majic.
It does apparently but it wears away i've given up copper greasing them now just means tyey squeek from new the copper grease wear away quickly anyway.
GO to Williamclio matt from specialst Renault breakers has arrnaged a discoutn with a Renault garage employye for members to get a discount there £600 or so list price.
You need to get the bearing pushed in most kits apart from Yozzas and Renault don't come with them pressed in also chnage the pads whilst you r at it its a waste stickign the old ones back in.
Does the cambelt kit include the tensions as these should be replaced as well also you'll need an aux...
near cambridge. They don't give many detaisl on the site as they don't want everyone to know where the place is due to the maount of expensive bits they have in stock.
£250 or so for a strip down and rebuilt then you've got the price of bits that need replacing but you might not need to fix that many bits.
A new williams box can be bought for £500 or so on discount from Renault which is stornger than the 16V box.
Second hand boxes go very cheap £150 at...
53 plate 172 are getting cheap should get one for under £8k with normal mialge there 2 in the trader for 8 with 31 and 34k on them. Should be able to get 400 off. Going private and you looing at £7k.
40k realy helps loosee the car up. Eveyone how has milage will say they get better with miles.
Thats looks very good. Is it coming to FCS and running?
Could you not have run in the higher gears looks like it was done in 5th, surly 6th would have helped?
This picture should give you an idea.
Jack on the bit in red if your colour blind I've arrowed it in yellow as well. Don't jack and further forwards (marked in light blue) as thi is where the chassic bends back up and the jack could come off.
Have a look under the front of the car by where...
Keep an eye on the autotrader and on here it depends what you want. If you want a 172/182 and do long milages with full warently I'd say a 182 Full fat, if you want a track car then a Cup or trophy. If you want to save some money and get the better drive by cable thottle get the Mk1 172...
Yep what you have to do is undo the pipe going into the caliper first and let all the fluid drain out the system realy into a container. Then take the pipe off the lines and swop them. It just will take you a hwile to properly bleed the brakes and you'll loose a load of fluid but to do it...
0.9mm gap for spark plugs but if there out just get new ones.
Any small thin spark plug tool will work to get them out plus you'll need a long extendion bar but most tool kits have them.
To remove the plugs disconnect the HT leads using the tool which is on the manifold make sure that no...
Pumps are only cheap halfords sell them under £5 i think.
Its most likly the pipes blocked get a pin or blow air down them etc to get rid of the blockage.
Easy to do yep remove the old pipe put a new one on and bleed the brakes.
Only thing that makes it difficult is if the pipes are corroded or rusted up you might end up replacing all the lines back to the master clyinder/ABS unit.
Get a second hand box from Matt at Renault specialist breakers (01254 386661) for about £150 or so then pay say £300 to get it fitted with a new from there.
You can fit it yourself it you want but unless your feeling competant don't bother.
