Omars a good driver, his tires were worn out and so what you don't need to wear through 10 sets of tyres to know a cars handling.
As regards the 225 being 911 quick it just isn't different drivers/road knowedge /bravery to push it makes a huge difference. I've overtaken a TVR a 525 BMW a 911...
You need to remove the intake manifold and replace the intake gasget I think from memory.
Noone has chnaged them as they are good for 72k inless somehting wierd happened.
Plus at £20 each (Renault ones are the best) people don't want to change them to often.
I didn't do mine I watch a Renault mechnaic do mine as I'm lazy plus its a Williams so a bigger engine with the same room.
I'd chnage the bottom end ball joint ie the bit which matches the hub to the bottom suspension bar as this does make a difference to handling feeling.
The mechanic didn't...
Yes sorry your right gearbox not exhaust, I must have been tired.
You could always jack the engine up and when you remove the gearbox mount lower the engine onto a block of wood etc and use the jack then to hold the box up.
I'd personally remove the whole hut or hub and suspension strut on the...
Personally I'd buy a whole new hub as its less risk/effort.
However Specialist Renault Breakers would probably offer you a 3 month warently on hubs anyway somehting a new bearing doesn't.
Two ways:
1) In the seat wiring loom stick a 1.8 to 4 ohm resister in the loom. (I'd pick a 2.2 or so as a good mid point resister). I know you'll ask now which wire I'll have a look at my drawings tomorrow, PM me as I won't remember.
2) Find someone with a Renault clip laptop and get them...
The clutch and gearbox are at the side of the engine on the passengers side.
Check all the level ie brake coolent etc. You might have hit some water or something.
The front dampers should ahve bump stops on the top of the damper.
If it has been removed get a new one and find out why it was removed as there there for a purpose. Thats is to stop the piston going all the way into the damper body and damaging the valves.
A new hub from Renault is probably £80 a second had one from a breakrs about £40 or less.
Dead easy to swop if no rust is present you can do it in under half an hour.
Yopur car already have a throttle body (an electricly operated one).
A throttle bodies purpose is to control the amount of air the engine can suck in. If the throttle bodies opens fully more air gets in which mean more power. A bigger throttle body in simple theary had a bigger hole so more air...
You can get a second hand hub for £40 or so. I don't see any point trying to fix the old one.
So long as you don't have any rusty parts you can do th swop in under half an hour.
Sounds like a superb spec that.
Just a question though does running the stand alone ECU present any problems with the all wheel drive or anyhting else?
Also how come you've gone down the stand alone route I throught the stock ECU had been so worked upon now that the stock setup could be...
The modifications won't be worth more than a few hundred if anyhting extar IMO unless you find that few owners who want a car like that.
I'd say stick it up for £3.6 and take £3.3k. However leading up to Christmas I'd say best airm for 200~300 less.
Renault could fit them wheather they would I'm not sure.
IF your keeping the normal belts then just plug the belts back in.
If you unplug the belts then the computer thinks your belted in all the time so if your not wearing the harness when/ if the airbag ever goes of it could do you more harm...
You will get through a set of disk as fast as pads maybe 1.5 sets of disk per set of pads.
Its no huge problem though there cheap enough realy.
They will last a few years though I wouldn't worry.
Standard pads are good value and better than the Brembo OE ones but the Brembo ones have wear...
You need a jack on the exhaust or similar its very heavy you'd never hold it up yourself.
You can move the box back into place by hand its heavy though 'd end up using a jack as I'm a weekling.
Hut nut = the nut in the center of the hub which holds the driveshaft on.
You can leave the...
It is annoying but once you learn how to do it its good as you can do it yourself.
I'd make sure there no brakes fluid over the car as its nastly stuff.
If you get any on the exhaust manifold don't worry it will just burn off and it stinks.
WHat have you done?
So long as you've got bleed nipples in and theres fluid in the reservoir you shoudl be fine just don't push it till you've got them bleed to get rid of air. However you've probably been driving round with air in the system anyway.
Yep some companies ask how much. Eelephant won't cover over a certain drop in some cases.
Try Adrin flux there usually good or Elephant (I think its 50mm the rule) or Tesco there good as well.
Use a pare of pliers to get it on a tight seal plus use ptfe tape if you want.
They don't make that good a seal but its much easier bleeding them like this.
You cannot clean it realy a new ones only cheap go to Halfords and have a look on there charts.
Its easy to find the fuel filter though its at the back of the car on the drivers side just infornt of the fuel tanknear the fule tank there only one canister there with a pipe going into one end and...
If your doing the rest of the brakes you might as well do it as it will help.
However unless you drive very hard I dopn't see any advanatges realy.
They won't help unless the fluid is hot as they will resist stretching less at high temps like the stock lines do.
If your not getting new shock then hub spacing isn't a problem.
Most mk2 2 Clios run 58mm hubs.
The only way to be definate is to check.
Easy way to do it is to put the wheel on full lock then look at the shock absorber and measure the distance between the two bolts at the bottom of the shock...
