I dont know how some of you claim to never be able to see under 30mpg Ive got less out of my diesel (abeitly on the track) even on the road Ive seen 36mpg.
Even running round on a long run I get 55mpg if Im careful 60mpg.
Thats the dfination of Group N parts little modification is allowed. You can yes buy the bits but there not the best and not hugly modified there are better cams and better throttle bodies (individal ones for a start). The ECu is programmed for a drop in so its not perfect they are just easy you...
Its quite easy get a Haynes manula or get somoene on here to do it.
I paid £90 for my coilovers to be setup and that was overprices however it was profeshionally setup.
What do you want to do with it?
I take it you probably want to fit it to your car?
If so then youl need a lot of work to get it to fit plus you need to find a gearbox and custom mounts plus a lot of effort to buy the radiator suspension etc to handle the extra weight.
172 engines arnt that...
It doesnt have number plates does it?
As Fred said though let Michelle comment on team think as she bought a car from them so is better aware of what there like.
Dont forget they will have been used and as Fred said probably crashed so make sure it goes and stops in a straight line. Also see if the tranmission tunnel is straight alos that the door close reasonably easyily (can point to a bent chasic).
Price will depend on spe a tunned 2.0 is more...
You can run down to the minimum fine Id just not let it go any lower than minimum.
Mine leaks a bit your sound like a coolent leak though not just natural evapouration. Check your pipes and radiator for leaks.
Personally Id say no tunning just isnt cost effective realy a bigger engine or a new car is better value.
You wont get 8hp from a chip though unless you have a load of other stuff done to the engine (ie cams).
IK (closed with a cold air intake) and/or an exhaust will make some more power but...
Mine had 7cm of clearance driving down my drive I had it lowered a supposed 60 all round (was 40 front and 60 rear) and it still had about 1 cm clearance.
Usually the 3rd party ability to drive another car is only if the car your driving is insured and ownerd by someone else. This trick of insuring a cheap 1.0 and driving a stupidly quick car was closed down by the insurance companies by bringing this rule into the terms and conditions.
They changed the spec from 12k/1yr to 12k/2yr servicing I cannot remember when it was either just at the end of the 172 or on release of the 182.
So some books say 1yr some say 2. Your dealership should know which your car is.
Probably because they think that you need a quick car with big engine to start with.
I loved the coilovers on my car ok its not that quick straight lines but if you could drive it well on a race track (the instructer did) you can overtake modified 2.0 Clios.
It isnt worth it though then...
172/182 disks are 280mm.
If you want bigger disks youll also need caliper mounting brackets making up so the caliper doesnt hit the disc.
Personally the stock discs are fine IMO. IF you want get some groved but they are only for looks. Get better pads and dot 4.1 fluid and bleed the brakes...
It will be expensive but it has been done before.
The Super 1600 racer cars run ~220hp I think so thats posible but its going to pricy.
Best bet is to swop engines a 172 engine box suspension brakes and dash is only £1.5k or so from breakers. Then youve just got to fit it so thats about...
Id go with the FK coilovers.
I like the stock wheels on my lowered car some pictures below.
My car was officially lowered 60mm all round with Spax RSX coilovers but its only 40 front an 60 rear. Most company claim more than there kits realy lower...
Ive never heard of many clucth cables going Id guess the last one might not have been installed right.
If its anything like the Mk1 Clios its not to bad to do it yourself maybe 2hrs if you take yor time. Practic you could probably get it in 3/4 hr.
Its insurance that companies have to insure people on cars they own.
Criteria is you have to have a business and deal in cars or own cars in the business etc.
Loads of companies do it its the only wy to insure often.
Its not a problee the amount of cars its unusual business insurance. You...
Air filter is easy to do.
Change the oil and oil filter for a new better quality oil (pro silk 5/40 is recomended by others).
Clean the throttle body of mess as this can restrict power.
Decat is easish to do.
Change the gearbox oil for better stuff (Id recomend Millers 75/90)
