IAssuming its the 18K I'd expect to pay £100~£130. The 54k is £150~170 as they have to do some other little things.
The brakes sounds liek the pads arn't sitting right i'd take the wheels of clean the pads etc up and if necessary replace the pads. its easy to change pads no need to pay Renault...
Martins idea of a stripped out car is very stripped out. I recon he'd think an ITR racing car had to much in it.
Anyway martin least with a 182 you could strip out loads of spare weight the Willaims doens't have as much potential weight loss.
I'd personally have a Mk2 Trophy if i had to pick...
That was when the track was closed and open as a closed track day. There were more than those pictures show. Unfortunatly there no sound clips but they did sound superb those big 4x4's.
I like the fact I don't look to much like a prat Ang. I wasworried what the worse picture could be.
Depends on the tyre i run 31 28 most of the time with contis. However they would benefit being 1~2 higher psi front. On Toyos they need to be 34 28 maybe a bit more.
On the track I let them go as high as 37 32
Shouldn't be much problem it will get worse though and after time damage other bits etc.
Have you checked you wheel nuts and other bolts are all tigth though?
You won't get the engine bored out for £1.2k with all the bits for a few reasons.
1) The block wouldn't survive that much bigger.
The pistons you'd need would be so big and heavy you'd have to limit rpm so much so that you won't get much ectra power.
J3neds £1.5k+ vat 172 conversion includes...
I like both the Mk1 and 2 there different cars the Mk1 is classic in its looks. The Mk2 is a much more modern looking car. Saying one is better than the other is unfair its like compairing the Escort Cosworth with the RS Focus. There both superb but in there own way and people always with liek both.
I use standard Halfords plugs I forget the tyre but the for the 1.8/2.0 Mk1's three prongs and you don't need to set them I've never had any trouble and there no different from the other ones the car had in.
I'ds use Miller 10/40 or 5/40 personally its superb stuff. Pro silkliner also has a...
You won't get 10hp from them. 2~3 at best. There graphy might be 10hp but it might also have had a load of modifications and was running lean before they stuck the map on. On a stock engine it won't get 10hp.
R-sport ECu's you need to ring R-Sport I don't have the number though to hand. The...
You could do but the gains would be minimal for most gearbox the lower ratio boxes are usually 1.2 petrols so you'll be sticking them under a lot of extra power. A rebuilt box with different ratios is expensive.
Best spend the money on smaller wheels better brakes and suspension changes...

Best buy about 3~4 liters of the stuff you'll only need a liter at worst per car but if your anything like me you'll end up with it all over the drive...
I think the big thing is the Leda setup is famously been one of the best setups but being £1.3k has put so many people off regadless of how good it is. However the group buy has got the price down by a fair margin so people are willing to pay the 400 extra for it over gaz coilovers whereas they...
Genuine cable are about £22 (thats the price for a Williams one which is the same realy).
Genuine clucthes are £80 though and after my experiance with aftermarket "stronger" clutches I can say that the stock one is just as if not stronger easier to use and a better quality. My cars got ~180hp...
Don't bother taking the wheels of it means it takes so much longer. Just tick your hand up the back of the wheel. on a 182/172 its easier to turn the wheels to one way then the other. Make sure you bleed them in this order though (if you don't have ABS its different but you have a 172 so have...
You need a center bore size of 60.1mm or bigger.
You need either a spigot ring or just to accept that mounting them will be difficult as the center bore won't hold the wheel in the right point when your trying to bolt it up.
Demon Tweeks are good for setup and fitment of suspension stuff. £90 they charge for fitment and setup. However there are other people on here who will fit them for £40 its very easy to do.
If I had £1k I'd go blow it on track days. Or if you were going to do track days spend it on coilovers.
I don't know of anywhereunfortunatly. However I wouldn't recomend getting one its not that good the shifts no better and you cannot rush the box anyway.
There was a recient thread on another forum to a massivly high HP Mk1 Clio. It does seem a huge amount but you could do it there a 600hp 2.0 engine ben done abroad.
Harder pads usually wear the disks as well.
Unl;ess you've got to chnage your pads or are having problems with the stock setup I wouldn't upgrade personally.
What sort of terminal velocities were you running. Its just my Williams has about 180hp is totally stripped out and only runs 14.7 at 93mph. I'd say CTR's problems are down to the revs they need revving to keep up with a fast tdi. If you drop a few gears on the CTR it would make your car look...
The only gains from a IK and sports exhaust are in regards to noise spool up time will be slightly increased but its barly noticable.
You can pick up Mk1 172's over here for sometimes £4k (about 6,000 euros which might be your best bet.
Tunning the engine is expensive the portuguese tunne them as they don't buy 1.2's and usuauly turbo swops are done when the stock ones blow up (its not a common problem they usuauly fiddle the boost and blow them up). If you want loads more power get a bigger engine dropped in you'll need the...
The Renault boxes arn't superb and the mounts are much better there will be some give. Best idea maybe to go for a test drive in another car as a comparison.
I wouldn't worry though best advice I'd give is to chnage the gearbox oil for somehting like millers 75/90 as that is better IMO.
Intercoolers not to bad I don't know the prices but if you get one from a scrappie etc it will reduce the cost to very little.
However an intercooler won't have any effect (beyond reducing turbo heat a bit). An intercoolers advanatge can only be made when the mapping is increased way beyond...
