Ops testing is fun though….haha.
Or what I’ve seen is people do code, get it reviewed, I’ve deployed it to a test environment and a smoke test, doesn’t work then I debug it to an error where it would never have compiled so how that dev decided “yep that will do” without even running their code...
I’ve also go a passenger side drive shaft that came out of my Ph1 172 you are welcome to have. It might have a small knick in the CV gaiter that I glued up to get it to pass an MoT test so it might have some wear in the CV joint but might be a good back up? I can’t remember why I replaced it...
Pricey but amazing, will need to also get a phone specific cradle to screw to this which they also do

I've got one on my E34, the girlfriend has one in her Focus and I had one in my old Octavia and they are perfect. No damage to the car...
Same, I have been using a broom to wrap the clips around and push that under the car to get them to the other side. And when I have been doing them up recently the only way to get them proper tight is to lie on the floor and pull the strap at sull stretch under the car, which again is a pain if...
Dont forget some tracks will want a secodary tether for the camera. I was caught out on this at Angelsey last time out so have bought soem metal cable things that loop around the bolt for the camera to mount and then around the view mirror.
Similar issues with the car cover I used when it gets windy. They have three straps that are behind the front wheels, middle and in front of the rear wheels so the bonnet and boot are a bit loose. I ended up running a ratchet strap over the bonnet of the car to in front of the front wheels and...
I want to install a battery isolator switch to the Clio so I can easily disconnect it for storage and also for track safety. I have had a look and there are some wiring diagrams that make no sense - some say to the negative other say to the positive terminal and I hate wiring (electricty is...
It’s currently forecast to be sunny all day so I’m making the most of being on holiday and going to wash, polish and wax the Z3.
The joys of having no neighbours no one can judge me for always washing cars which they did where I used to live. Plus no one will know if I use a hose pipe if we...
I was a bit disappointed with BMW when I bought my brand new M140i. I refused to do the midnight thing as it was the 1st September so they did a little gathering for the new registrations sales at midnight which sounded the worst thing ever. So I picked it up in the morning and it wasn’t in...
It’s a car that can be worth money if time and effort is put into it. I think the general consensus is that the Ph1 is going to be a good investment. I think I spent about £1500 putting mine back in a drivable condition when I bought it back in 2020 and that was cambelt, dephaser, all new brakes...
Project Clio has been paused following gear box issues. Realistically it will be about 18-24 months before I have the funds to sort this out as my mantra is "whatever comes out new or better goes in" so this means a nice rebuilt gear box, LSD, lightened flywheel and new clutch. And with an...
Definitely did the right order (regardless of what I said just then!), can’t remember what that was but I checked and double checked when I did it. I do use their ceramic sealant after washing as well, although I’ve probably washed the car about 3 times on the past 12 months as it’s barely been...
The E34 has a ceramic coating so any rain beads o. it really well. Downside is if the rain isn’t removed then it dries and leaves little dust spots all over the car. Saying that all my cars do this as they have various waxes and ceramic sealants on.
Is this just the downside of having nice...
Have noticed a spot of oil where the green circle is, it’s pooling in one of the rocker cover bolt recesses.
The spark plug and coil pack are dry. The solenoid for the dephaser also looks dry but it’s the only thing near it that has the potential to leak.
Take it that it’s a simple swap if...
Mine needs paint and I always wonder if I should change it to odyssey blue. It’s my favourite colour for them. Had an option to buy one about 10 years ago, should have done it.
Do like the gear gaiter on yours.
I am probably going to park the Clio up for over year or so while I save up some funds to do the bodywork and that on it. It probably wont get driven in this time, might have to move it when the drive is being done but that is it. It has about half a tank of 99 fuel in. Anyone used any additives...
My search criteria on eBay and AutoTrader was sub £2000 sort nearest first....there was very slim pickings. This was the closest (5miles up the road) that was total crap and has 11months MoT test left. Only issues are front bumper is cracked and the air con isn't cold.
Bought a new car so the usual thing I do is give it a good clean.
Its just a cheap run around for the time being, can't beat it for £1500. All it has too do is last me a year or more.
Headlights were the first to be done, this is them before. Used the 3M kit and then Meguires Headlight...
Ph1 #1 bought in 2013 for £750
Ph1 #2 bought in 2020 for £1200
Both were never "show" cars and needed work doing - the second one needed more doing to recomission it. Second one is for sale but I am reluctant to sell it as I won't be able to afford another one when I come around to buying...
I can’t remember if we had to state what car we are taking but I’m selling my Ph1 so might have to bring either my Z3 or brave it in the E34. Do we have to notify anyone of this or just rock up with whatever on the day? (Providing it is road legal and not an EV).
This is the worse thread on the forum. I hate it.
Makes me want to get my Ph1 in a showroom condition again and a full restoration work on it. Or buy another one and do what I said I would do with my current one and make it standard with a few nice extras and restored until I lost the plot and...
Little success on this.
Fuel pipe sorted so now I am not losing fuel at an alarming rate! Might need a more permanent fix but the hose I have kicking about home did go over the original hose but I might need to use actual brass joining fittings. It’s holding and that is all that matters.
Gear...
