ET36, I was more concerned with it not being wide enough kind of thing seeing as the standard wheel is a little wider. But if it runs the same tyre size then in my mind it shouldn't be an issue?
Seen a set of wheels that are local-ish I could be tempted by to use as track tyres for my Ph1 172, probably run a set of AR1's. They are off a Renault 19 and are 6.5J wide with tyres 195/50/R15.
Being slightly not as wide as the standard Oz F1's I currently have this wont be too much of a...
Just had a look at these, they say “universal” and looking at the picture it is like they need an adapter to fit to the right exhaust diameter, this what you had to do? Hopefully if this is the case should be easy for the exhaust maker to sort out.
Need to get a cat as the old one had collapsed and to make the car good for an MoT test really. I’ve spoken to the people that made the exhaust and they are happy to put a cat in when they make a centre silencer for it so I can go with an aftermarket one.
Any decent ones to go for or avoid...
I’m a software engineer and been doing it for the past 7 a half years, and 4 in my current job. Not sure how I ended up doing this but I’m enjoying it. Did a degree in particle physics then a masters degree in nuclear physics, first job was hydrodynamic radiography where spent a lot of time...
Took advantage of the dry sunny weather today to wash the E60 to take some for sale advert pictures. It has not been washed since about October and I am doing 140miles a day on a motorway and live down a single track lane that is covered in mud. It was filthy. Wanted to leave it longer to he how...
Emptied the catch tank earlier. Glad that hasnt gone through the engine! Consistency of water/fuel but doesn't smell of fuel but has a slightly oily smell to it and it is full of bits, or could be scum that has formed on it.
Took the advantage of the dry and sunny weather today to clean it so...
I’ve got this one from GSF on mine
The shealth goes all the way from the bulk head to the throtte which from past experiences most do not and have some exposed cable.
Annoyingly I had to cut mine down but this is to get a better cable routing for the ITB's but should not be a problem with a...
This is what I’m thinking and not much I can do in the mean time, just to try and make it better that was all. I’m thinking of taxing it next month and getting it out, will be my main car when my E60 sells.
Now I’ve got my Z3 water tight the insides are still getting damp and have to keep wiping the mold off the seats (I need to disinfect them to kill it and re-treat the leather). It needs a good few days of not being cold and raining to get the roof off and let it air.
I’ve got, what I thought...
So my Clio, E34 and Z3 are not being used for the winter I need to do something to the batteries to disconnect it to stop them going flat.
I used to be able to trickle charge the E34 with a battery conditioner thing and that was ideal. Don’t have the option to do it in my new house.
The...
I've been meaning to do my shower screen in some glass water repellant.
Also want to do the same with my glasses as they get pretty dirty very quickly for some reason but worried the extra coating will give more glare or something, it is hard enough driving in the dark as all I see for every...
I kept my original Ph1 seats with the long term goal of refurbing them. If this ever happens I have no idea! But it was cheaper and easier and quicker l to fit buckets to smarten the interior up
I have used AMDetails in the past and cannot complain but recently been using a load more GTechniq products and their foam is great from what I have done with it so far.
Anyone used or know of any good soft top waterproofer?
I’ve used GTechniqs Smart Fabric when I bought my Z3 but either it’s not the best for roofs or I didn’t put enough on as it hasn’t lasted long
Seeing as hen's teeth are more common than a decent set of arch liners, what have people used as alternatives?
I've taken mine off (the usual they were damaged, broken, fixings were toast and been cut and drilled out and the one dragged on the road if it wasn't cable tied up, plus it makes...
This is my Ph1 172 that was meant for a restoration back to standard to use daily but ended up being a bit of a track car…whoops.
Was based in Gloucestershire so have done Castle Combe a lot as well as Llandow over the years. Took this around Donington Park the other year too.
Now has ITBs...
I looked at it but wasn’t wanting to pay the price for it at the time. Although my stance might change!
Extender arrived the other day, need to fit it over the weekend.
So the one good thing about something like ChatGPT is you can ask it things like “make me a Java spring boot app with X, Y and Z” or along those lines and it will give you a good framework to start from. It won’t be perfect but it’s a starting point. Same when you see an error, good as a...
The amount of times people say “we need AI” and really they don’t is a lot. It’s just a buzz word and people think they have to have it to be seen as cool and trendy (which for tech firms they think they have to be seen to do these crappy things….innovation sprints, tech festivals, talks...
Also you say IT sector is that any job for someone that make IT stuff? As the company I work for we write software as our main money earner (we bid for customer work, make software, hand it over kind of thing) but there has been a bit of a push within the company to be like "I never thought...
My first job after uni was science research (x ray radiography in hydrodynamic experiments so proper nerd stuff) and I did some basic coding for computational models and analysis. I swapped to do data science a few years later and that role was a bit of a waste as the closest I came to data...
Agree with having the interior. My first Ph1 172 I removed all interior and while it never really bothered me I didn't want to do it on my current one.
Old one has everything removed and painting the insides a grey colour and just had two rubber floor mats in the front
And the new one. Plan...
Bought a TP Link AV600 Powerline, hopefully turning up Tuesday. Will see if this place's old (and probably backwards) electrics will handle it!!
I should also add I can only get 3MB internet where I have moved to, not had to work from home yet or if a Teams call will actually work, but...
