Coil Pack going? - Flashing ECU light, hesitant, sounds like 3 cylinders, high idle revs

The reader I have managed to give the right code for a fauty injector, doesn't work so well on mum's Mini. So I am hopeful it will give me something. Ahh ok, just seems that there was loads being bought and sold in the for sale section so I thought they were good.

Coil Pack going? - Flashing ECU light, hesitant, sounds like 3 cylinders, high idle revs

I have a code reader but that is at my parents......90mins away! (I don't live at home). I think i will change it. It seems to be fine now after a quick run up the road. I have also lost my ICV breather filter, no where to be seen in the engine bay! Don't think that is the problem though...

Coil Pack going? - Flashing ECU light, hesitant, sounds like 3 cylinders, high idle revs

Didn't use my car this weekend as I was away. It rained, foot well full of water (again) - now think this is a blocked drain plug in the wiper scutter as first thought I left my winder open. Then the car sounded like it was on 3 cylinders and then struggled and the engine management light was...

heavy rain drainage concern clio 182

went to the car now and......full of water, a good 2" deep in the driver's foot well. Not want I want to be doing today. Think the mats have had it. Lucky I have no carpets and electronics under the seat as that would have been ruined. How easy is it to remove the scuttle? And how does the...

heavy rain drainage concern clio 182

Abs sensor removal hints and tips please

Drill it out. I tried to take mine out once and failed dismally.....shed loads of WD40, using a hammer to tap the torx into place. Luckily I had to change the hub anyway and the one I bought had a sensor already on it.

heavy rain drainage concern clio 182

Do you see quite a substantial trail of water coming from the front of the rear wheel arch when you pull away?

heavy rain drainage concern clio 182

I have the same issue after heavy rain. Having no interior made it easy to check but I couldn't find any water in the car / sills and that.

    Kit's Ph1 172

Serviced the car, aka chainged the oil and filter. Glad I bought a new sumnp plug as this is what happened to the old one...whoops!! Also removed some rocks from the under tray, not sure where they came from. They dont fit in the palm of my hand, so some serious weight saving! Thinking of...

    Mixing Oils

I have a few nearly empty bottles of oil from serving the car (damn 4.5ltr capacity and having to buy 5ltrs!!!!). They are all 5w40 fully synthetic, different brands but one is the same brand but a different "grade", well the label is different. I want to put them all into one bottle to save...

    Need a sump plug

Glad I bought the new plug...the one I removed from the car basically disintegrated as I took it out.

What have you done to your car today ???

Changed the oil and oil filter. Made an expensive shopping list and list of jobs to to over the winter for the car

    Thoughts on this colour...

It is a nice colour. I don't think it would be that obvious behind the wheels, and that is why I think it will work. If you are going for an accent colour for the rest of the car then it will be fine. And just keep to the BG and purple scheme. Plus it adds a bit of flair to it, like a signature

    What colour to do wheels?

Red or white. Orange looks crap and too common....:tonguewink:😂

    Show me your decals/stickers

Now that I have pick up my daily drive the Ph1 is going to be turned back into a track car. Some stickers wouldn't go a miss, mainly of the things I have on it. Oh and a number spot!! Like the idea of sort of an advert for a family business. Would like some period stickers of a Renault racer of...

I used to see this daily when I lived in Reading.

    What colour to do wheels?

Depends what you want from the car. Wnat an original looking one and a "restoration" project then it has to be silver, or something like a shade darker. Or you go full yob and go a bright colour. The later generally suits track cars.

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

Insurance is sorted. Got something through Adrian Flux for the new car to get it home, then will just start a new policy in a few weeks.

I would hope so! But I highly doubt it.

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

I know, it makes no sense! The new policy that Adrian Flux quoted mirrored the no claims as I was already insured with them, and they would only mirror 7 years so when the current policy lapses I will lose out on a year. The £250 quote was with the no claims and the woman said if you take the...

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

Also I just thought, I need to tax the car too, which I need insurance for. Can I tax it with temp cover insurance? Also got a call back from Flux tomorrow to ask about temp cover as they guy I have just spoken too never actually gave this option. He was probably being a sneaky salesman but...

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

Thanks for the advice. Greenlight wont cover the car as it is non modified. And Flux were a little better, but not competative on the price as I needed to geta new policy. Having problems with mirroring my no claims. I have a quote from Endlsigh at £250 but have to get proof of my no claims to...

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

The second car is actually another Clio! Just a non-sport. Currently insured through Adrian Flux. When I get the 172 back on the road I will probs go with Greenlight, this time they didnt offer drive any car 3rd party as I was too young by less than a month when I started my policy.

Just bought a second car - need isnurance for a month

I have just bought a second car which will be the daily drive, the 172 is then goign to be SORN'd when its insurance runs out at the end of September as I want to drive it to Castle Combe in September so I need it insuring. If I get a new policy with the new car I wont be able to use any of my...

    To strip...or not to strip...

Another option is to remove all the sound deadening and then refit the upper layers. Like Someone mentioned to me refit the head lining after the stuff under neath had been removed. Still has its refinement and removes weight. However you can't really do that when it comes to pollying the...

    Need a sump plug

Like can you see the crap the plug attracts when you remove it after a while? I know on the video on the website the amount of material they put in wasn't representative but for show, but can you see it working? Oh and placebo upgrades are defo worth the extra money if they don't work...

    Need a sump plug

I know I should start collecting my own tools (I got a tool box + some tools last Christmas to start off the collection), but his tools are a lot better quality and over the years has gathered everything! Although I bought the set of sump plug keys the other year the first time I changed the oil...

    To strip...or not to strip...

This is the same questions I am having myself about mine. I know mine is a bit more stripped as I have no carpets, but I want to remove the roof lining and poly the windows too. I am looking at a few cars this weekend for the longer journies and daily drive so I can go full race car on the Clio.
