Have about an inch of play in the pedal before the throttle does anything. Can't seem to find where this is coming from. It is as if it is taking up the slack of the cable. Is this normal? Or has anyone solved this issue?
Fitted the induction kit!!!
Slightly different set-up to the Fatty's one for a Ph1, mainly as I didn't order a second ally joiner so I couldn't attach the second 90deg ben. I have one now so I am tempted to put it by the battery. Not as loud as people made out, or that could just be my lack...
Noise stuff turned up :tongueout:
However the hose seller on eBay said it was a 70mm internal diameter but it actually isn't! So the it doesn't fit onto the cone filter :tired: however I have bought another joiner for it, so have to wait another few days to fit it.
I've used the C4 stuff and it is really good, such a big difference tbh.
The only thing it didn't really do well was the bump strips on the doors, mainly because they aren't really that black, they are more of a blue colour. But I am going to spray them satin black anyway.
Not to sound too thick, are these the ones next to the rear lights? If so they seem a little loose, so temtped to gob a bit of araldite around them to seal them, they appear to do naff all!
Seems too much water for condensation, and surely it would be all over? Did have a look at the washer pipe, that is dry and doesn't seem to leak. Plus I don't use it as I have removed the wiper
Will have a look at those grommets tomorrow.
Found two small pools of water in the back of the car this morning; highlighted in the picture.
Rest of the car is bone dry. All windows were shut last night and eveything (unlike last time!). Not sure where it has come from as it is not in the lowest point of the car, plus right in the...
Drove the car this morning for about 20mins to and fromt he shops so this would have got rid of any "corrosion" from the rain the night before. Given the car a clean this morning I noticed that not all of the disc has cleaned up - there seems to be some orange rain marks (usual after it rains)...
Yes, you would have! I live around there.
So after a bit of tlc last weekend I had noticed the insides of my sills were sarting to get the dreaded rust problem, so decided to stop this before it got worse.
So I used Hammerite Kurust to stop the rust and then painted the inside of the rear...
I ripped one of mine after a little spin across a curb at Castle Combe. Haven't noticed it is missing really. Apart from the reduced weight of not having it........
It may also be attahced using a little square "c" shapepd thing on the bumper which a screw goes through to hold it to the...
I was all over an Imprezza at Castle Combe the last time I was on track, was going to pass him up Avon Rise but I over cooked it into Camp and span (my fault as I lost concentration when an Evo cut me up into the no-overtaking zone). Think my step dad was going past S4's on track and then Type...
I am in a simialr boat after removing the carpets in mine. I currently have the original matts in but they are starting to show their age.
An stripped out Mk1 Fiesta that I had I rivetted rubber mats into the front foot well, that did the trick, but not sure I want the same int he Clio, so...
As my insurance policy is pay for it in 10 months and i have budgeted for 12, and also I said I would treat it if it passed the MOT test (which it did on Saturday) I have just purchased some noise ingreedients to release my inner chav - a Fatty's induction kit (with a little help from Dr Jekyll...
My suggestion for something fast road / track is a lairy accent colour, anything to give a controversial reaction. Items to paint:
* Bullets,
* Mirror covers
* Tow strap
* Wheels
* fog light brake ducts
* ....plus more!
I've gone for Focus ST orange for mine, it looks...
Got the car MoT tested today - passed
Cleaned the car. And started to treat the inside of my sills as they are going rusty. Gobbed some Kurust on it. But the only tin of paint I have is bright orange and I don't really fancy buying another! So I may have bright orange bits where the rear door...
Drove the car in an exuberant manner after doing the track rod ends, front wheel bearing and wheel alignment. It is a totally different car. Plus a lot quieter!!!!
Actual progress!! Bearing is now changed and it is fixed. Thanks to @Kelv for the new hub, fast postage and kept me updated at all times. So the awful noise has stopped....only to reveal the exhaust (I hope it's exhaust) knocking, plus I think it is blowing a bit. Excuse to whack a KTec...
It's all done now, I managed to source one and got it fitted earlier. I used a press at my step dads work to get it out, but bent the hub in the process so had to get another one.
Thanks though.
Finally got the wheel bearing changed!!! Great tip I saw on here is to have both wheels off the ground to attach the suspension! It made it a 30min job instead of a fight with it lol
Was that parts and labour?
My N/S might need changing if it is still making a gash noise when I get the O/S back together and I don't really fanc doing it myself after the hassel I have had with it.
Same issue on mine. But I had no play in the bearing after I chanegd the track rod ends. But there was some serious grinding noise. After my recent venture into changing a wheel bearing I would reccomend getting a garage to do it!!
