this was my old one when I was 17!! full stripped out with a custom airbox I made and I made an HKS panel filter for it lol!!! had 140k on the clock and was RR at 83bhp!
goes as MWright said above.
To change just remove the top damper nut and jack the car up until the damper comes through the bottom of the body, change the under side bush it just slides on the same way the standard one is removed, and then lower the car and fit the top bush again the same way...
mechanics courses generally isn't where your going to learn about increasing the performance of a car!
DCI clios sound terrible with open filters on them, I tried one on my mapped dci 100 out of curiosity and it sounded rubbish, every time I lifted off the throttle it made a deep tractor like...
if I was going down the K03 route id just run around the 160-170bhp mark with a good oil cooler, good quality fluids and get someone who knows what they are doing to map it, I don't know for definite but the rods are fine at 150bhp, id take my chances at 170 and see how it goes!
gearbox might...
loads of effort to do the engine conversion, not so much to go down the K03 route, however gearbox and clutch will be an issue. personally id rather keep the smaller lighter engine or sell up completely and buy another car, if you were going to the length of fitting an F4RT you are better...
mine would step out if I wanted it to step out but never when I didn't expect it, the one time it started stepping out when I wasn't expecting it I had a burst rear damper, replaced them both and it was back to only doing it when I wanted!!
they don't go sideways as easy as a 197/200 though!
172 injectors and an rs tuning remap will give you in the region of 145bhp 150lbft of torque, brakes are more than upto the job, GT has quicker steering, re tuned dampers and stiffer springs so handles extremely well, although a set of coilovers do transform it.
50kg less weight, 20bhp less, 10lb/ft more torque and from 2000rpm, short ratio box geared to 125mph, on the road theres nothing in it, the exact same reason theres nothing in it between a mildly breathed on 106gti/saxo vts in the real world
same connector mate just a straight swap
I get easily bored, ive always fancied a flamer, so I bought one, got it to the spec I wanted it, box ticked, sold on!
this drives better, is better on fuel, more toys, comfier, quieter, under warranty, cheaper to service/tax/insure, doesn't rattle and with £400 is just as fast.
my mate turned up in my old one today for a chin wag, since I sold it its had a front mount intercooler and K-Tec cat back fitted, the exhaust sounds awesome, driving about town its properly quiet you can hardly hear it unless you tickle the snail, on boost it sounds brilliant though you can...
It was for me the best one to get, as it ment I could get a 2011 TCE with all the modern Bluetooth handsfree, music streaming etc where if I went for another GT I would have been limited to an older one so for me this was worth the premium over a GT which are still holding massive cash anyway!
I would have thought a franchise with Renault is something worth a lot of cash so it would be very easy for Renault UK to have the dealers by the balls, I got my current Twingo from a Toyota dealership and the level of service, and standards is just night and day compared to Renault
Arnold Clark Stirling told me that my warranty should be void as it had been on track, but as a goodwill gesture they wouldn't pass the information onto Renault. There was a poster beside a 200 in the dealership saying "a real track animal" on it, my car had a LAP timer ffs!!!
after weeks of...
Pipercross pannel filter fitted today turbo makes a much louder whistle on spool up now and the car feels much better as these always do with a better filter
Ordered Bilstein B14 coilovers :)
