PMSL! Can honestly say I've never done that before, I have missed a gear before and had the dreaded crunch (not in this cup).
How high were your revs? I'd imagine if you did it alot you'd strip the teeth off the cogs.
I never knew you lived in Stockport Lol.
It was at Stockport Cruise/Meet. The one near the Stockport Junction off the M60. Can't be more specific because I'm not all that familiar with the area.
It came hammering passed us, took a few seconds to register because we heard the noise then saw a...
You know when you say it doesn't start, when you turn the key to start it, is there no nothing there, i.e nothing even trying to fire/start?
Mine did this on the Cat&Fiddle meet, BenP fiddled with the sensor that's under the bonnet then it started.
Really? Majority of the comments I've seen about it have been positive. I'll give it ago and if it's not suitable it's not that much of a loss. With it be non-acidic is a good thing.
There's a guide in the guide section for metal polishing but beware if you do start polishing it yourself it takes alot of time and patience.
I wish I hadn't started doing mine now :dapprove:
Sounds like you may have a problem somewhere if the rev limiter is cutting in at 6750rpm. On the day you said it felt more alive, the problem had probably corrected it's self. RS's do feel poor until properly warmed up though.
I've tried that in the past, might last long enough for the M.O.T but after a short time the moisture will eat away at the paste and you'll have the leak again.
I have, I remember reading in the paper a few years some old guy got 3 points on his licence for having an empty water bottle.
You'd have to be incredibly unlucky and catch a mini-hitler copper while he/she is having a bad day to end up with that though.
Yeah the back end will become more unstable lol. You do notice a little difference once you've stripped the back out but it gets very echoey, especially if you've got an aftermarket exhaust.
Take it the cambelt needs to come off to replace the water pump? and would that mean a new cambelt if it is taken off?
Sure I've read somewhere it's advised to use a new cambelt if the old one is removed for whatever reason
Lol talking of the dipstick, on my previous Cup I never found the dipstick, I just presumed it didn't have one and it went off the electric gauge inside the car :o
I found the washer bottle fairly quickly though.
