Hmmm! no idea then mate! I'd probably just resort to reinstalling windows in the end if I couldn't shift it but I don't really have anything important on my computer.
Sure someone more computer literate will be along to help eventually.
Wasn't having ago mate, just my personal opinion and concerns if If I was running a jamming device.
I've no idea if they could confiscate the vehicle but I'd think you'd get prosecuted for something.
Which anti-virus are you using? I had the same problem when I lived at my mum's. Sister decided download that blocker checker thing, it was there for months because my anti-virus wouldn't pick it up. I changed to AVG and that picked it up.
Yeah it is fairly common due to the rear mounts being crap. Best thing to do do is waggle the backbox and check for excessive movement, or get under the car and get someone to rev it, you'll be able to see where it's hitting the heat shield underneath. If that's what the noise is obviously.
I wouldn't fancy risking it to be honest. If you drive past and they get "error" on their gun they're just going to pull you over anyway and I'm pretty sure they'll be update with devices that jam their speed guns, so they'll know where to look for them.
Yeah my money is on the exhaust hitting the underside of the car if it's doing it when stationary, is it a metal on metal sound? Check the exhaust mounts, the rear ones are prone for wearing out.
+1
Like I said earlier in the thread I'm pretty sure I've seen that car on Piston Heads but under a different reg. It's the orange lettering on the inlet plenum that looks really familiar to me.
Rattling and knocking noises are the Clio's forte. As people have asked, where is it coming from and how loud is it?
Mine still makes a knocking sound (although it's quieter than it us to be) when I accelerate hard even though I've tried various things to cure it.
05 plate. Overtook me in the outside lane then moved over and exited the M62 for the M6, as I pulled along side the lad driving let on and I let on back.
Re: Webuyanycar.com...
I just presumed mine got locked because there was a WeBuyAnyCar thread in General chat.
Edit: I see this one has been merged though.
Re: Webuyanycar.com...
From what I've heard they're after knocking you down after they've quoted you a price online, I was tempted yesterday with them as they offered nearly the same as what I paid for mine.
Beware though cos when I made the exact same thread here yesterday and it got locked. Lol
Mine have 215's on and they're awful on rough/uneven/cambered roads. At Sundays meet while driving over some of the country lanes my car was snaking all over the place.
I'd advise to go for 195's or 205's
One advantage of being old eh? haha :rasp:
I pay £860 for my Cup, I'm 26, 2 years NCB but the killer is being in the 2nd to worst post code group.
Manchester postcodes = anal rapeage.
I personally don't mind the twin exhaust exits on the 182s but I do prefer the stealth look on the 172s.
If your heart is set on a 182 couldn't you wait a little longer, save abit more money and increase your budget? As previously said you'll be lucky to find a good one for £4.5k but it's not...
It could one of many reasons to be honest. Dampers/suspension, tyre pressures etc. Best get someone to have a look at it or take it to a trustworthy garage.
Always the way that mate, sods law is a b*****d. I'd just keep looking until one pops up that's worth having, during the mean time I'd try and get test drives of various 182's. It'll give you some indication of what's a good/bad example.
Unlucky mate, nearly everyone has done it, just an expensive lesson at the end of the day.
As for lamposts, I'm sure they have some sort of crumple zone in the base don't they? I could be talking utter b****cks here by the way :o.
Lol! you're a massive fan of doing this aren't you?
As Matty says keep an eye on here for people selling them. If you try and get a new one from Renault they'll charge you £600+ for one.
It's fairly simple to do really, even if you do mess it up all you'd have to do is get some more MDF. My floor is in two pieces to allow access to my spare wheel.
I built a false floor with MDF and carpeted it with acoustic cloth then fitted my rear speakers in to the floor. Looks alot neater than bare metal showing.
Just for ease mainly and saves me a little bit of cash sorting a few niggles I have with the car now.
I've toyed with the idea of sticking it on Piston Heads just to see what kind of interest it would gain. I've gone against advertising it on here because I wouldn't want to sell someone on...
