Last place I went for an M.O.T seemed to go over the front suspension components with a fine tooth comb. Yet they passed it with a buckled rear wheel :S (not my Cup by the way)
I know it's a different car but my old Escort use to do something similar, mine use to rev up to 2k revs though. I knew it was clutch related because it use to slip, eventually when I took it in to be looked at I was told it was the thrust bearing.

Was driving along at a steady speed and all of a sudden I heard a loud snap come from the underside of my car then about 10 seconds later my exhaust note became louder.
Pulled over and had a look under the car and I noticed one of the bolts holding the centre section to the cat and completely...
Just out of curiosity, when people have the 182 style exhausts on 172s what do they do about the extra rear exhaust mount that's needed to hold the back box? Would something need fabricating or is there already holes on the underside of the car to fit the 2nd rear exhaust mount?
Yeah I did see a Trophy there, me and a few mates were down there for a drinking weekend. Saw a Blue Megane 225 several times as well.
The LY 182 wasn't there though, I saw it on the way back on the M6 yesterday.
I'd think he'd need your car there because as Jamie says, the exhaust is cut then welded while it's attached to your car. I doubt he'd have a jig to make you an exhaust to be sent to you.
Think it was called Run To The Sun.
Saw quite a few RS Clios down there while I was in Newquay weekend just gone. Also saw a liquid yellow 182 followed by a blue 1*2 closely behind it on the M6 today.
Hmmm, it could possibly be the same one I saw in Ashton last night as well. Guy driving it was being an arse to be honest, hammering up and down a dual carriageway racing other cars. Sounded like it had some form of induction kit rather than an exhaust though.
The oil might have just collected there when who ever was topping the oil up had missed the oil filling hole (not sure what else to call it) and it's dribbled down there. Mine was the same, I just got a long thin screwdriver and wrapped a rag around the end of it and mopped the oil up. Nothing...
+1
I ended up with a Trojan Downloader of some sort, everytime I went online it searched the net and downloaded more and more viruses on to my computer. Nothing I tried would shift it, in the end I just had to reinstall windows to get rid of it.
The only time I've heard a ticking sound on RS's is when the engine is off and the exhaust is cooling down. That's only on the standard exhausts by the way.
The joys of having a modified cat pipe ;) Mine's nice and easy to swap over.
They barely pass with the cat on don't they? From what I've read on here I get that impression anyway.
K-tec supersport ;). Mine's fairly raspy when the revs build up. Don't suppose you really heard it when I pulled off from yours after I bought those mats from you, did you?
Oh and to add, the original version never came with a disc, when I reinstalled windows with that version I simply pressed F4 while it was booting up and it took me to a menu from which I could reinstall windows.
I downloaded and installed Vista Black edition (I think it's called) a few months ago but like an idiot I installed it over the original version of Vista that was installed when I 1st bought the computer instead of creating a new partition and installing it on there.
My question is, is it...
