Depends on how much charge you have in your battery.
My battery was almost flat the other month and the RST wouldn't connect, I thought it was knackered,
I charged the battery up and all was fine.
You just need a battery with enough charge to have the ignition on for about 20 mins,
if your...
Car looks good with the new wheels.
When you say the Plastidip finish isn't great, do you mean looking at it 6 inches away from your face,
or standing at a normal distance from the car?
I shunted a Volvo at the lights once in mine, smashed both headlights bent the bonnet, the Volvo didn't have a scratch! LOL
£20 quid lights down the scrapyard and a mate jumping up and down on the bonnet and it was fixed.:D
I made a headcase mate of mine scream like a girl in it once, haha...
Like Paddy has said the only thing with a new car is you have no clue if it'll go bang within a month,
but we all know the allure of a different car, if I was you though I still wouldn't be going above 1.4, insurance will rape you!!
Unless you're minted then get a 172.;)
With a 1.6 you get into...
From what you've said it sounds like your car has cost you a bit to keep it on the road,
and if you think bits are on the way out like the clutch, it may well be worth looking for something else.
The first thing i'd be doing before even looking at other cars is talking to your insurance...
At 19 a 1.4 is the best you could do without your insurance premium looking like a phome number, but is it worth it?
How much fuel does your 1.2 drink in a days commute?
Good vid although it makes me a little sad as I wasn't there.:(
I was at work in a boiling hot photographic studio with screaming kids,
on the way home my gearbox went bang and I spent 2 hours of my evening on a grass verge waiting to get towed home.
Looks like you lot had a far better day...
Mine use to do this but hasn't for a while but when it does do it, priming the fuel pump twice does the trick.
Ignition on let lights go out, turn it off, ignition on let lights go out then start,
works every time for me and lots of others on here, as said above.:)
My dog spells better than this!!
Not only is the car horrendous, but going by the spelling i'd imagine this guy has problems tying his own shoes.:S

You can get them from Renault, I can't remember how much they are, but I can almost guarantee
that you'll have enough coins in your wallet at this very moment to afford a new one. (They're dirt cheap)
I'd ask whoever changed your oil if they fitted a replacement sump plug washer,
(they should...
Your sump plug washer has a rubber seal on the inside of it,
i'd wager who ever's been doing your oil changes has been re-useing the same washer and the seal's knackered.
Well in that case I probably drove past you anyway but didn't notice lol,
as I work in Stratford every weekend till 6pm, and make it back to Cov by about 6:30pm.
Unfortuately you'll never see me as my 172s off the road atm due to a broken gearbox,
but if you see a bloke with dreadlocks in an...
As I was driving home from work I saw an Iceburg 1*2 in Stratford upon Avon,
I was driving out of the town on the A3400 (Birmingham Rd) and you were driving in.
I'll try another spotted thread, not that anyone replies, lol ;)
I saw a very nice RB 182 (cup?) no stripes, at 6:20pm driving southbound on the A46 Coventry end,
you wont have seen me as I was in an old Mondeo shed going in the opposite direction.
I've not changed mine myself but from searching previous post on here, the gearbox oil change procedure is as follows,
Unscrew the plastic screw on the front of the box first, if you can't get that off there's no point in draining it.
(thats also how you check the level, it should be just...
It's not as easy as that though, I tried undoing the refill screw on the front the other day and it wouldn't budge,
there's just not enough room to get the leverege you need to unsrew it.
My gearbox went bang and I wanted to check the level but it's impossible to move, I don't know how garages...
I've heard this aswell, which is why i'll be replacing both the upper & lower gearbox mounts, and the engine mount at the same time.
Worth doing imo, they're not expensive.
£3500 grand?!! That's to buy the car and have the engine work done?
You could have bought a mint 172 for that, or even a half decent 182!!
I'd ring them to at least see what they say.
