my 172 gets better mpg than my old 1.2 16v clio.
del sol is rather gay, my mate has one with exhaust, decat, induction kit etc and while it sounds brilliant its not as quick as my standard 172 especially low down with the lack of torque being a 1.6
looks good, id get a set of PIAA platinum sidelights from ebay though, highly recomended by me, used them in all my clios. much better than philips bluevision that i had before.
cup dampers are uprated you could use them.
ive used apex and they are ok on a budget but not great, used koni adjustables and they were spot on liked being able to adjust them.
but tbh id stay standard, im going for another set of standards when replacing mine
they ones are ok ive fitted a few, they are apparently rebadged old pioneer stock without the removable face, and if youve ever seen or fitted one of the pioneer motorized ones you'l soon see for yourself, look identical apart from the facia and different GUI
earth the handbrake connector and...
my old 1.2 16v clio had FK Konigsport Coilovers, polly bushes, front and rear strut braces (front one welded in), fully stripped interior with no carpets or back seats etc 15" wheels with 195/45/15 eagle F1's and awesome brakes and i know for a fact that down all the twisty backroads around here...
plates are stupid but cool at the same time, not something id do to mine!! think it had an exhaust too (not surprizing really they all do these days lol)
not read this full thread so not sure whats been said but personally id get a Phase 1 172 as its a cheaper base car to start with, you already have the 15" wheels for cheap track rubber and better handling, alloy bonnet is an added bonus too for weight saving thats before you even get to the...
i fitted my old apex -60mm kit to my mates dynamique the other day and its just as harsh as my sportline'd 172 on standard dampers. not that bad imo.
my coilovers are great when set to the softest but a bit to soft for my liking from a handling point of view
they will fit but its not recomended due to the much heavyer front end with bigger engine, rears wont be a problem due to not much if any extra weight.
ive always used Eagle F1's, my 172 came with a set of PE2's but when it came to replacing the fronts i couldnt afford 2 PE2's so went for 2 F1's and to be honest i prefer them to the PE2's
standard disks, not drilled/grooved.
pads and disks have covered 10k/6months so not bedding in due to them not being brand new, just new-ish!
both disks look and feel ok but ive not had the wheels off yet for a proper look.
does the pressure on the rear brakes gradually increase when your...
hi guys, getting a weird grinding feeling (thats all i can think of to explain it!) when breaking hard say from 100+ mph down to 60 or less
when i first start braking it feels fine and normal but then after say 5 or 6 seconds i get a grinding noise and feeling through the car/pedal its a...
i emailed them the same question and david replyed saying they are the same construction so sound similar, dont know if they are any different at all sounding or not but they are similar!
my dad had my car for a day last weekend and couldnt keep up with my uncle in his 1.6 astra lol hes used to driving a turbo diesel tipper though which doesnt have the widest power band in the world LOL theres still no excuse!
mine pulls to the limiter fine takes a bit of time over 120 but keeps pulling steadily (spelling?), theres a good twisty runway arround here on my way home with a good straight on it and i hit the limiter nearly every time!
well not these days due to the weather and road conditions but in the...
would avoid the zetec S, ive drove one and while i quite liked the looks the interior was gash, didnt handle that well and was SLOW! (and i had a 1.2 dynamique at the time!, it wasnt much slower than the fiesta!)
ive never driven a VTR but i done a VTS conversion to a 1.4 saxo for a mate and...
inside the car, pop the trim pannel off, theres a connector, unplug it now remove the 3 torx screws holding the mirror on and remove the mirror.
the glass then pops out, i just used a screw driver to do it if i remember correctly (been a while!)
you can then un clip the mirror plastic cover...
