fyi, this is what is meant by bolt spacing, the distance between the centre of both holes in the hub where it bolts to the shock! (or top of both holes or bottom of boths holes lol)
i cant see any scenario where non-sports would have 54mm or sports would have 58mm but im open to being...
holes in the airbox shouldnt make any difference to where it idles,
is it a ph1 or ph2?? its more than likely a sensor that has gone if its idling funny.
post in "cliosport technical" under suspension! suprised a mod hasnt move it aready tbh!!
if you get some lenso BSX wheels defs go for the et20 version,
and id personally go fora bit wider on the front from those pics, but the rear looks spot on!
if theyre for the 172, they wont have 58mm bolt spacing, theyd have 54mm. other than the stiffness of the suspension the only thing that differs between them is bolt spacing so you wont find 58mm sport ones.
with such a car you would realy have to take the hub off and measure, it should be...
the lenso BSX wheels come in et38 which would defs need spacers, i had them on my ph1 non-sport and theyre far too tucked,
the et20 version you may be able to get away with, but you could still benifit from spaces,
it really depends what kind of stance you want! streched tyres?
also wrong...
well you need to deciede if you want to keep the car for a while!!
if you intend to, then by all means start making some changes, nice wheels, coilovers, some OEM+ body parts.
remember as long as you dont butcher anything, you can sell the mods on later when you need to drum up finance for...
im guessing at that budget youre going for a non-sport!?
bonnet bra's look gash
tints look very chavy
as do HID and theyre not MOT legal anymore unless you install aftermarket washer jets!
40mm springs you wont notice at all, they dont even look lowered, 60mm isnt as bad as people make out, i...
to some people, they prefer the joy of building them!! if its a hobby to the guy maybe that was his plan the whole time.
like myself ive spent lots building my track car. Once its finished, i probs wont enjoy driving it as much as ive enjoyed building it!
OR, 2500 miles = 961 laps of brands...
is it where it comes out of the final centre box?!
thats where mine snapped off!
get either a genuine centre section, pattern centre section or aftermarket exhaust.
unlikely anywhere will be able to weld it up if its that corroded!
lol at "has anyone on here stripped their car"
but yes, it makes a difference if you do it properly!! ie remove all the tar, sound proofing, seatbelts
ive even gone as far to removing PAS and AC, and was sizing up ABS for removal! it all counts!
speed is all down to BHP/ton ;)
both mine and my mates cars have the vibratechnics ones, i dont find them at all "too harsh for road"
i spose its how comfortable you want your car to be! id personally go for the good ones if youre going to track your car 12 times a year, otherwise youll just put more stress on your gear...
is it coming from the gear selector mech?!
if so then ive very very common!
as above the way to fix it properly is take the box apart and replace the seals
other option is to get some stuff i think from halfords for £10 that acts as a sealing additive
could be worth taking the clocks apart, taking the needle of and putting it at zero with a dab of glue,
as someone else said, it could be that the needle isnt connectyed to the spindle properly and is just sitting where it falls!
i have a y-reg with a shift light! my mates old x-reg didnt!
i dont think its reg specific, i think it was an addition extra when first ordered!
im not sure what its part of, does your current clock actually have the light that just never illuminates?!
since nobody has done it, you wont be able to get a 100% definite answer (unless someone has lol)
im also pretty confident it should work, the only thing i can see being an issue is the headlights as mounting points may have changed!!
find a pic of a ph2 with the front bodywork removed and...
3 year gap you also only needed to insure something for a single year in the middle!!
ie, no insurance for one year, insure something (anything) for a year, then no insurance for the next!!
if you have a gf or someone you share a car with, just alternate who the main driver on the policy is...
because they do look so much better than the standard plate hanging over the front grill!!
i had mine on for a year, never got pulled over for it, but did have it mentioned a few times. no fines.
my mate got a fine for his plate thought
UPDATE 18/07/2012
Ok so ive not been very good for the past week and ive not got much interesting done!
changed a lot of gasket and the thermostat. (no pics)
i reassembled the bits of the gearbox so i now have a pretty box to go with my pretty engine!!
And since im getting very sick of my...
