I think you might find that with a lot of the options. Off-the-shelf tuning kits aren't easy to get here because there isn't the volume.
To be fair, his 200SX was pretty brutal even with the standard V8 in it. It had a decent chunk of mid-range grunt so could break traction with ease in pretty...
I used to work with a guy who was into his drifting. He put a Lexus LS400 engine into his 200SX. It mated up to the Nissan gearbox with a bit of fettling. The BMW 4.4 V8 is also popular.
My sister used to have a Civic like that. Key in, ignition on, push start button. Utterly pointless! At least an Integra is a good car otherwise though. Her Civic was dull as dishwater.
Great result, nice to see a little Clio doing well. Door isn't too bad. At least it's a simple panel swap, rather than a rear quarter or something, could have been much worse!
It all depends how mad you want to go really:
My helmet was c.£350
An entry level HANS device is c.£250
I got my suit off a friend for £100 (someone had bought it, but only realised it didn't fit after it was too late to exchange it)
MSA starter pack is £99
Licence test is £180
I think you have...
I went from a Clio to a Megane 265, albeit via a Golf. Still have the Clio though. It's definitely a nice upgrade. They do have similar traits in some ways, but the meg does feel more grown up. In your budget, I think an R26 is the way to go. As someone above said, you're at the lower end of the...
@Pauleds has rallied his Clio, as has @EVOgone
They should both be able to help. I am currently rebuilding a MK5 RS2000 to do some single venues in also. As above, you'll need a copy of the MSA bluebook, plus a licence, so you need to order an MSA starter pack. https://www.msauk.org/ is the...
Yes it sounds like we're on a similar page. I had thought about something as similar as a length of L-section; so cutting a slot into the underside webbing of the GRP bonnet for the vertical to sit inside, then bond the flat into the bonnet. You could rivet and/or apply laminates over it for...
Thanks bud. Boot makes a lot of sense. The bonnet is an interesting one. Planning to start getting some weight out of mine but don't like the way that the GRP bonnets lift in the middle. Also don't want to fit the catches too far in as want to leave space for a lamp pod. I do wonder if a...
Looking good. Are you not running number plate lights/side repeaters etc? Not worrying about road legal?
Also, any reason you didn't trim the boot like you have the doors?
Final question, how stiff is the bonnet with the webbing removed? Does it feel like it might flap around or lift in the...
Ha! It's funny how the cars from those movies end up over here. My friend nearly bought one of the green Eclipses from the first movie that someone had imported to the UK. He probably should have, given what it would be worth now.
Joking aside, I do actually really like that!
