I'm with Admiral....they really are a crock of :quiet:
Wife's car got written off over 2 months ago. Still no settlement figure or anything!!!
They blame it on waiting for the DVLA on driving licence checks for me and the missus.
We both have clean licences, no points EVER. They've done a...
It was baked off the car, then fittings added, and fitted on the car the following afternoon.
I'm pleased with the job, but I'll ring them to let them know my reservations.
If I can polish it out [as usual] I don't mind waiting a few weeks, the rest of the car is well ready anyway. i dont want...
Um....
The guy at the garage said it had been waxed [he may have meant polished?] however, it is a brand new bonnet, and they have two very up to date ovens.
Presume its been baked then waxed. Washed it today and there was some serious beading going on!!!
They had the car all day monday and...
Just had a new bonnet fitted to replace the damaged one after the wind [and subsequent damage] we had a few weeks back.
Very impressed with quality of fit, colour match [perfect] and customer service.
Only thing to comment is it has some light swirls [buffer trails someone suggests?] from...
Er. It DOES seem to knock when in neutral when decellerating esp. on poor road surface.
And I get a louder knock from the right side of the engine, front wing area when turning 90deg left.
Should I try the suspension top mount washer fix? I've lasered a pair ready. Or check the O/S engine...
So it would knock slightly when in gear, but not when in neutral?
Hope someone else on here can shed some light on the situation.
I'll try it our again in the morning, but on my way home [25 miles] it didn't seem to knock when in neutral.
ps, last serviced end of November 06, oil level full.
Car - 172 mkii
Year - 2003
Miles - 50,500
Dont know if anyone can help.
When i take my foot off the accelerator, there is a light knocking sound coming from the engine area. When applying throttle, even very lightly I cant seem to hear the knocking. Its especially noticeable when de-celerating...

MONACO BLUE Phase2 172 Reg R*** JMR
Travel on the A617 Newark to Mansfield every day, 25 miles each way.
See a Silver 182 at Kelham most days, never flashes, miserable 8ugger.
Sometimes see a Racing Blue 182 in Ollerton, same again.
Gonna...
Mine goes in Monday to be fixed at a professional bodyshop specialising in [amongst others] Renault paints & repairs [not a stealership!]
New bonnet sprayed in Pearlescent Monaco Blue, fitted and if necessary blended in to front wings.
£ 350 + VAT.
Not my problem, works paying the bill, a...
Mine's been remarkably good in the snow.
In a straight line, in thick snow, even uphills and the traction control has been superb. The ABS is a bit sensitive, but overall its been good.
NO WHEELSPIN!........and no slushy wheelarches to clean up Rich;)
Welcome to the club!:D
And SNAP!:approve:
Mine's just had a claying session this weekend plus polish & wax. So thats got rid of the swirls you get thro the winter weather.
Cracking colour, just hard work this time of year. Oh and a bit demoralising when you take it for a blast...
I'm using Aquatouch waffle weave microfibre drying towel at the moment.
Bought on here from Serious_Performance in the lambswool washmitt group buy.
Well impressed up to yet. Do the whole car easy without wringing it out.
They haven't phoned me once - never mind an offer. Someone was supposed to be ringing me with an offer two weeks ago.
I printed a load out off AutoTrader the day after the crash;)
Yep, its February in a few hours, and I've still had no phone call or f*ck all about my settlement for the car which was written off.
It only happened on 13th December!!!!!
I'll be calling Admiral tomorrow, i want my cash.:dapprove:
YH55 ONK in Bystronic car park at Leeds. Looked superb.

Missus has recently had her car written off after avoiding a tw4t and hitting a lamppost.
Still waiting for the insurance pay-out 6 weeks on......:dapprove:

.......and for todays lesson......:approve:
I used to be well into photography, technical sides and all that, but ditched the 35mmSLR and got a Fuji S9500 digital instead.
I'm dead pleased with it, but just dont use the camera much nowadays. When I have some time spare I'll try and replicate...
Its called rear curtain sync.
Set a slow shutter speed to capture the light trails, tripod mount the camera, click shutter, get someone to drive car into frame, park it in frame at a pre-determined point, then just before the shutter closes, the camera will set off a burst of flash, hence car...
