Nice one Jason .. I'd almost say your most sensible purchase to date.... not sure if that's an insult however ha !!
That video above.. I clocked him going into second and then BYE. I was going round there at 70+ in the Clio on road tyres in the wet .. that should have defo been 4th. Whups...
Raise the front up or put some spacers on ?
Surely stiffening the rear torsionally will put extra load through the front ?!
Mines on 'standard' BCs and I don't get any rubbing at all. 25mm spacers up front... and quite low.
Is it rubbing inside or outside on the tyre..
Winter tyres are better in the rain than summer/normal tyres.
I ran decent winters on my scoob until I sold it in April and you wouldn't have known they were on it.
Winters deal with low temps better. They won't melt the first time you take a corner and its more than 10C outside.
JFDI.
Read the stickies on here, then use it.. and then read the stickies.. and use it more.
And then use it some more....
Take pictures of the same thing - such as a toy on a table in your kitchen .. keep moving one setting, such as shutter speed, and see what it does to the photo.
You'll soon...
Lol @ the wimmin logic of estate cars.
Nice buy.. Just make sure you give it some welly occasisonally as I assume it has filters and things which will block up if all it ever does is the school run.
Then again it might be last gen engines as its a 2002 so doesn't ?!
Few of us have got INPA (BMWs version of Renault's CLiP system).. If you need to check faults etc.. Or do some coding.
Brake and traction faults I'm going to leave to the garage especially as you've only had it for a few days !
Needs belts soon and faceplant coilovers will be awful...
If it's a grand..... Meh. I'd rather spend 2 on a decent one.
Don't get hung up on miles either.
If I were to buy one as a daily, I'd get a 182. Climate, decent lights and cruise. Job done.
Will you notice the benefit of no ABS / cloth seats and a weight-saving of a morning-dump driving up the Motorway every day ? No. Will you on a track !? No, I don't think so personally.
If it's...
Yes.
You want grippy tyres that don't provide grip ?
Go book a track day if you want to explore the limits properly.
Buy some cheap LingLong Supergrip 2000s if you want tyres that dont grip and you might crash into a hedge at the first time attempt to gonround a corner.
What answer were you looking for ?
They will be fine. I run R1R on the road on my Clio. Good in the dry and great in the wet.
I can't say I've ever thought I have too much grip ?!
So what do you think compared to the 'One' ?
If I can get a 'Two' and flog my One to CEx or on here for £150.. I'd be tempted but I'm not seeing a huge jump in tech ?
Think this might be a skip-a-generation job for me TBH.
