Get a dCi mk2 Clio .. either the 80 or 100 version. Will feel so much faster than your 1.4 as it actually has some torque.
Is that a Beko 14" TV ?
I had one as a kid in my room. Couldn't ever get Channel 5. Doubt it's much more use as an airbox TBH.
Just use an actual airbox as your airbox.

I would guess at injectors or timing issues or wrong spark plugs.

Make sure the windows are clean.
Make sure the pollen filter is new (within reason).
Make sure the boot bump things or lights aren't leaking.
Use the A/C more often / always.

I really think the cause of your issues is the hamfisted bodger that cut those wires in the first place.
