use genuine rear disks for £124.40, and motrio rear pads (renaults budget brand) for just over £20. rears do so little there's no need for anything more.
I have. Rare though. metal head gaskets are very good in general.
your heaters/blowers diagnosis is the reverse of HG diagnosis normally. Blowing cold when you turn the heaters on would be HG symptom/telltale.
I recon you have a small leak somewhere.
roughly where was the wet patch under? if it's a leak, the obvious culprits would be the water pump, a hose, or the radiator. look for white furry deposits to help locate the leak
anything can be done. If it should be done is another matter. Theres someone on here who's put bike bodies on a 1.4. Would be a fun learning project if thats what you're into, but it wont make big power
loads of options!!! genuine are £57.60 each. Other makes are available as standard replacements and are fine as long as you do them in pairs. There's also the upgrade option to something like spax, koni etc
I'd say the cams are excessive for the rest of the spec then, you'd need to be up around 12.5:1 really. The trouble is, you're going to need upgrades to the cam rocker gear before you can raise the limit any further, you'll get air in the hydraulic lifters above that limiter. Dialing in the cams...
what compression are you running? those cams are spec'd to run a hell of a lot of lift at TDC which suggests they will be giving very peaky power, possibly even putting the theoretical peak power at higher revs than you are using. where's your rev limit? got a dyno graph?
I've yet to see a single set of H&R's that dont have play in the dampers, hence i wont sell them.
I've seen the returns shelf at spax (as has Dave when we had the factory tour) it's very small and the majority of things there are down to people damaging the dampers by using mole grips on the...
spax build quality is easily better than H&R. Your old ones knocked like a motherfucker. KW are good though.
Have a ride in Dave88's 182 if you get the chance. I think you'll change your opinion (which I'm guessing is based on 2nd hand info rather than experience of the product)
Spax do them, and if anyone has a newer 200 with the later top mounts that wants to volunteer the vehicle for a bit, I should be able to get them to mod the design
I'm up for doing stuff like this thats a bit unusual, so give me a call if you like. Cams are no harder to get than for a williams (6 weeks from order normally)
cams are available, throttle body manifold is too (albeit a chadil one which takes ages to get hold of) improving the plastic inlet manifold and rather nasty airbox arrangement would be a good direction to go down, but not straightforward. Interesting though, nice engine
/\ lol
ph2 172 is a bit of an undesirable variant at the moment. 182's are below 3k now, and ph1's have bottomed out and going up in valaue again a bit for good ones. Ph2's are still on the downward slope value wise. 10 years old now too
