Yeah that was the other big job. Sump is off with a load of de-greaser soaking in it at the moment. Back on tomorrow with some proper sealer that will actually set (not useless hylomar someone else had used)
depends how much other work you do/plan on doing. Torque wrench is a useful addition to a tool kit.
Saying that, I'd done a nip and a bit for years and never had one come loose
Off to the Ring for a few days at the end of the week, so set aside a couple of days to prep my mates 200sx. First things first, the radiator was well past it's best, so out it came.........oh f**k
That's the main cross member between the front chassis legs for anyone...
that depends entirely on the type of plug, some have crush washers, some have tapered seats etc. all the different types are listed on the NGK website (i posted the link in the last couple of weeks)
wonder if it's related to the supercharger? Could easily put shock loading on the pulley, and they do take a lot more power than an AC compressor
Might be worth adding a woodruff key to the crank, the slots are already there
There's nothing visible that you'll find wrong with it.
Nice to see Renault know how their own cars work :dead:
"back Lambda sensor" is in simple terms, only there to tell you if the cat develops a fault
absolute utter b****cks.
in the very long term it could be if oil and things aren't at optimum operating temperature, you probably shorten the life of the engine, but modern oils are pretty adaptable. You'll mostly notice better economy when it's running right
Think the cold limiter applies below 84/85 degrees.
Old thermostat will open too early and the engine wont get up to temperature quickly enough, if at all. Shocking number of clios have never had it changed, and take a very long time to warm up. The sensor is often wrongly balmed
dephaser would cause the noise, but not the other symptoms
I'd suspect the crank sensor, but i'd get it on diagnostics and give it a thorough check
3.5bar fuel pressure is correct BTW, they're clearly idiots
Interesting project.
Modified a Bogg brothers manifold this week, and it was a lot better quality than the others of theirs i've seen, but could still be improved.
I'd probably have a flange made from a gasket and make up the runners from tube, then get it welded. Means a lot of adjusting and...
These would be a better place to start

been looking at getting a cabriolet for summer if i can find one for 50p or less. Just puts me off seeing so many dreadful spoilers, rear lights and wheels on seemingly all of them
AAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG my eyes
I quite like a nice standard meg coupe, but there seems to be absolutely none that are modified tastefully, they're ALL shocking
