What engine is yours now? I like valvers personally, though EVERYONE will say fit a 2 litre to it. They're a shade under powered by modern standards, but still good fun
better is subjective. Depends what you want. The F7R (2 litre) makes more power, but doesn't rev as high. lots and lot can be done to both.

not neck breaking power, but certainly "enough" especially when you think the old 1.6 was about 90bhp lol. Really like mx-5s. I fancy a drop top for next summer....MX-5 or meg coupe cab?
A mate has a GSI and has tuned it a fair amount, blown it up, and upgraded to an engine and turbo from a newer astra VXR. running approx 300bhp now, and it's fast. Next step is standalone and a Garrett GT28RS
guff
some come with slotted holes as new.
I'd happily slot the upper holes on the bottom shock bracket by a few mm. keep the lower hole un slotted, and nothing will move anywhere once it's all tight
Re: Went to the car this morning to find part of my suspension coil lying on the driv
clio springs snap all the time. changed one today on a 1.2. You're out of waranty, so no chance with renault. get a set of eibachs
yeah, odd how it helps some and not others. dan.wil popped one on the line at pod, re-fitted the clip, and it popped again 1 meter later :(. He took it home, welded it, and it's still going months later. That's a turbo'd valver too
some people weld them in. trouble is, once the groove is worn, they keep popping (nice pringles reference ;) ) Probably worth trying welding it in place before you have give in to removing and changing the box.
if it's just an everyday road car, no particular tuning done, any 5w40 fully synth will do. Something with any significant tuning or that sees the track, i'd opt for something a bit more flash. Fuchs Titan is good and very well priced.
