well you're right on one hand and epicly wrong on the other. build quality may be better. Cars may be nicer to drive (subjective) but weight kills performance, and everything new is HEAVY
doesn't always follow quite like that though. newer cars get heavier, more restrictions are implemented, more safety stuff is put in. Things are compromised. Better is a VERY hard word to quantify when comparing cars, so many things are subjective.
yeah, new ones come with flexible rubber boots, not the plastic ones they had from the factory, and also an improved clip which wont break like the original
You need to take the sump off and tap a 3/4bsp hole in the back of it, it needs to be on the flat part of the sump between the strengthening ribs.
Hope this helps.
I've done that a few times this year :o
I just like it better. Really torn actually. All my family are moving south, and all my friends are in Bedfodshire.
172 is a comfier, nicer daily drive, by a fair margin. You've got to love mk1s to live with one for any length of time. Rewarding in their own way though.
Lol, the moral of this story is, dont read car magazines for technical info
Now i'm not a fan of iridium plugs AT ALL, but they do have some small benefits (hugely outweighed by the cost) If you run a catalyst, you should run either platinum (standard) or iridium plugs as they give a cleaner...
well what people call wastegate chatter, has nothing at all to do with the wastegate. It's actually compressor stall, the throttle is closed and the air rushes back through the turbo and is litterally chopped by the compressor blades
