has anyone remapped a clio 172 cup standard?

it should smooth out power delivery, give you a small mpg improvement and make the midrange feel much crisper

    172 Waterpump

was probably a non genuine pump. I've found that many many times, if you replace a gen part that's not faulty with a new copy, you'll likely have issues. I built an engine a few years ago, new everything. The plastic impellar fell off the water pump after 400 miles

    which oil for 8v 1.2?

rofl. just use 10w40 semi. with all due respect, its a low performance 1.2 8v. You dont need fancy oils. If it's tappy from cold, you probably need to get the tappets adjusted

    Quick help please-dodgy fitted cambelt

cambelt has to come off to remove the cam cover, a leak from the cover is fairly common, doesn't mean it's been disturbed. Aux belt has to come off to get to the cambelt.....I'd NEVER refit an old one, idiots if they did Sounds like the aux tensioner is sticking/seized. That would have been...

    1.8 8v

thr f3p is a great lump. Really not far behind a valver for pace and the economy you can get blows the 16v out the water.

    Supercharged 172 vs Vee

coops turbo valver (260ish give or take) did 12.83, dan.wil did 12.87, redrocket did 12.92. All 1.8 turbos, redrockets having a smaller turbo

Had to put her up for sale

i hope she doesn't want the range Rover because she thinks it's safer. ALL 4x4s perform very badly in safety tests. I've put a child seat in a 205 gti, a 200sx s13, and silvia turbo s12, and none have been any trouble. It's easier to put a kid in a seat in a 3 door, the front seats fold forward...

    Supercharged 172 vs Vee

nah, it'd get to the first corner and think it was a cup in the wet ;)

    Supercharged 172 vs Vee

SC 172 would destroy a Vee, not even close. low 13s, maybe high 12s down the strip

Piper Cams VS Cat Cam 428 (RESULTS)

se7en172 had it happen on his cup when his uncle did the cambelt, turned the cam with the locking tool and the insert span. Yoz's old ones didn't have the insert and were about an inch shorter as a result. Did have pictures but dont have them now
  22. S

Piper Cams VS Cat Cam 428 (RESULTS)

nothing wrong with shrick performance wise. Dont like the insert in the exhaust cam though, if it moves it throws the timing out, fail. (seen it happen, 4 other techs/garages tried to find the running fault) Not worth the extra though.

  26. S

Piper Cams VS Cat Cam 428 (RESULTS)

they CAN'T be a tooth out, F4R timing isn't done by teeth. It's eminently possible they didn't use the pulley locking tool however. Doesn't look like the timing is out by the shape of the graph though, probably too conservative mapping
  27. S

Piper Cams VS Cat Cam 428 (RESULTS)

they all have specific timing figures so you could technically optomise them, but the tools are pricey (k-tec have them). Generally the stock timing tool works just fine
