cable throttle? seen this on a few recently, they dont shut fully unless you snap the throttle on and off again. could try cleaning out the TB thoroughly and then lubricate the spring mechanism. If not, start looking for a good/new one. Worth clenaing out the ICV too
you'll see very little change with just an exhaust on a standard engine. It's what i class as a supporting mod, makes more difference to more tuned engines. What you dont see in headline figures, you will feel in the car being more eager

the gasket between cat and center section is a pressed metal gasket, if it's ok re-use it. Personally i'd stick some paste in there either way.
