if you can't get new helper springs in time, just remove the broken ones. they're not true helper springs really (WAY to soft for that), just keep the spring located so it doesn't come loose when you jack the car up
so a rubber that slides on the end of a bar will fit different to a poly-bush that slides on the end of a bar? I'd LOVE to know how you'd rose joint that. Also rose joints dont last, they're hugely maintenance intensive on britich roads where salt and grit makes them seize up. Totally...
depends on driving style, Will probably be more neutral and turn in better if slightly nose down. I prefer to provoke the back end. My red 205 was always very slightly arse down and the handling was pinpoint sharp. God I miss driving that car
For some bushes going poly is the best thing you'll do to the car, for others it makes no difference, and others is a pain in the arse.
Clio front ARB I would poly bush, the fitment will be NO different to rubber.
I had a turbo fail on me once when i got a slight twist in the oil feed pipe. Also you need to make sure the oil return is clear and flows out of the turbo without holding oil in the core, as that can over-pressure the seal and once it's breached it'll always leak
physical test for play in the shaft is all i can suggest. You had a rebuild recently IIRC, how bad was the failure? bearings or anything like that? swarf in the oil would very quickly have shortened the life of the turbo, so if it's the same one I think it's a safe bet it's dying
no, just a pipe. To include a PCV the pipe would go from the separator to the plenum, rather than to the pipe before the butterfly. Vaccum on over run would suck out breather gases. But the F4R doesn't have that system
We're in cheltenham :) new number is in traders section, and we should have our section active soon hopefully. drop Bex a PM if you can't find the number :)
I've fitted used ones that have come without the rubbers by drilling out the renault bushes by I think 2mm (please measure first, I dont remember) There's also an insert on the originals that you have to leave out
again that sounds like the cam timing is wrong. When they're wrong they seem to have quite a bit or torque in the midrange, but power peaks early and doesn't hold on well at higher RPM
Only said, "jon is in america" actually ;)
we had 3 silver ph1s in last week too
Doubt it. Probably a gearbox and a set of mounts when the engine eventually gets rebuilt (it's on 100k) the rest has been pretty closely looked after
