    I've not seen those ones shear before, but i've removed broken cam cap bolts. odd they break so easily, the thread must be very bad or the bolts far too long

    dont need verniers for a 172, cams work well timed as standard, but you do need the proper locking tools. Headwork, can complement other other mods nicely, but on it's own it's difficult to notice

    no, they're blind holes, and to take the rocker cover off is a cambelt off job. I'd cover the oilways with something and drill out the center of the bolt with a very small drill then use an easy-out

    Aux belt is 36k. and OMG even renault wouldn't charge that much (would they???) We're a little over £400 for cambelt and aux belt on an aircon 172/182

    are you going for rods and pistons with the turbo conversion or having the low-blow kit? if it's having internals, just have a belts done then.

    officially it's 72k or 5 years whichever comes first. Over 60k and 4 years+ is sensible IMO

    I've seen liquid nitrogen used before, then chip it off in chunks. Got to be used REALLY carefully though, dont know how available it is

    only matters for the reasons I said :) in extreme circumstances you might get internal blockages in the engine or rad

    I'm assuming you mean ignition timing. You give an engine what it wants, not what you think it needs. You'll quite often find if you keep increasing the timing the power will drop off, even before detonation occurs, so "more" isn't necessarily better

    yes, red anti-freeze is freely available. Just make sure you flush the system very thoroughly if it's had blue in there as you will get gelation because they dont mix, and you'll end up with a slimy header tank

    hand tight until it's on the car, then tighten it up nicely once the car is on it's wheels before you put the top cup on. CANT be left loose

    sounds like the belt's loose TBH. extra load on the pump when you turn is making it slip :)

    if bits are bent I doubt it's do-able for that. be better off getting a second box and having 1 good one made from 2. Rebuilt box is the way forward though.

    tensioner might need adjusting up a bit. Some non genuine belts can be slightly too wide. pas fluid level ok? nothing else to squeel really.

    FKs are far from good. Bilsteins are exactly the same as H&R but a different colour and cheaper
